Job description

We're expanding our data engineering team to support a major reporting buildout for one of our key retail accounts. This person will own the full data lifecycle - ingestion, transformation, and reporting - to deliver trusted, self-service analytics to the account team and their stakeholders.
You'll work across our modern data stack (Airbyte → Snowflake → dbt → Qlik) in an environment serving 500+ users and 150+ production reports. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role: you'll build the pipelines that move the data, the models that shape it, and the dashboards that put it in front of decision-makers.
What You'll Do
  • Build and maintain ingestion pipelines into Snowflake using Airbyte, including incremental/CDC patterns from source systems such as MSSQL/Azure SQL and SAP-sourced data
  • Maintain and extend custom data pipelines written in code and orchestrated through GitHub Actions - for example, our cloud feeds pipeline currently runs as a Python script on a scheduled GitHub Actions workflow.
  • Develop, test, and document transformation models in dbt Core on Snowflake, following dimensional modeling best practices.
  • Design and build Qlik Sense reporting (both client-managed and Qlik Cloud) - load scripts, set analysis, master items, and well-governed apps - to support the account's reporting needs.
  • Partner directly with the account team to translate business questions into reporting requirements, focusing on areas like POS/sell-through, replenishment, inventory, and on-shelf availability.
  • Own data quality, monitoring, and reliability for the pipelines and reports you build, and help maintain standards across the broader reporting estate.
  • Contribute to ongoing platform initiatives, including the migration of legacy SAP BW reporting to dbt/Snowflake.
  • Use version control (Git) and follow established CI/CD and code review practices.

Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a closely related role.
  • Expert SQL skills and strong understanding of dimensional/data modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt (dbt Core preferred) for transformation and testing.
  • Production experience with a cloud data warehouse - Snowflake strongly preferred.
  • Experience with a modern ELT/ingestion tool (Airbyte, Fivetran, Stitch, or similar), including incremental and CDC-based replication.
  • Experience building reports/dashboards in a modern BI tool; Qlik Sense strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable working independently across the full stack and communicating with non-technical business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep Qlik Sense expertise: load scripting, set analysis, security rules, and QMC administration across on-prem and Qlik Cloud.
  • Retail or CPG domain experience, especially with retailer data portals and syndicated/POS data sources (e.g., Circana, NielsenIQ) and EDI workflows.
  • Familiarity with SAP data - ECC tables
  • Strong programming skills in Python or Scala for pipeline development, automation, and API integrations. We maintain custom pipelines (such as our cloud feeds pipeline) as Python script run via GitHub Actions, so comfort building and maintaining code-based workflows is a real
    plus.
  • Experience supporting a large, multi-tenant reporting environment.
