Job description

Job Overview:
The BI/SQL Reports Developer designs, develops, documents and maintains database and Business Intelligence (BI) reporting environments to ensure that the performance, quality and reliability surpass the expectations of our customers. The position also supports database administration and assists in troubleshooting and resolving issues when needs arise. Job Functions:
Development
  • Develops reports across various reporting platforms: SSRS, Logi Analytics, PowerBI, etc.
  • Develop database schema objects including views, store procedures, functions and indexes for reports and data management.
  • Analyzes and profiles data for creation of operational and analytical tabular reports and visualizations/dashboards.
  • Evaluates BI reports for reuse and integration into standard offering.
  • Review query performance and work with developers to create optimized queries
  • Assist Project Managers and Quality Assurance in development and testing efforts

Production Support
  • Work with project management and support team on ensuring maximum performance and uptime of all customer systems including troubleshooting of complex problems
  • Work with internal IT teams to ensure performance optimization of internal database environments
  • Assists more-senior team members with the support and implementation of releases, performance improvements, and other troubleshooting tasks.
  • Create and manage table indexes to improve database performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, logic issues, and performance issues (system, data, report or DB code).

General
  • Completes tasks with minimal direction and oversight.
  • Be responsible for and/or be a contributor to documentation artifacts including functional requirements documents, design documents, and data management plans
  • Define and push forward new database functionality and improvements that can benefit our team and customers
  • Create standards for our databases and decide whether developer database requests comply with our standards
  • 24/7 internal and external support for critical issues via an on-call rotation

Travel Requirements:
  • 15% overnight travel (Travel expenses paid by Toyota Automated Logistics)

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills:
  • 4+yrs experience in report developer role on any relational database platform
  • Experience with the design and building of data models
  • Experience with relational database design and tuning
  • Bachelors degree in IT or related field
  • Experience with Visual Studio, TFS, Azure DevOps, and GIT, including schema comparisons and source control
  • Experience with database tuning and troubleshooting including reading and analyzing execution plans
  • Ability to design, develop and create database objects on Microsoft SQL Server platform. i.e. Tables, Indexes, Keys, Stored Procedures, Views, Functions, Triggers, etc.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
  • Employees must follow all information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report any suspected security incidents to support our information security controls.
