Job description

Job Summary:
Allied Solutions LLC is seeking a Senior BI Developer to support the execution of their Data Strategy. This role involves delivering reporting and dashboard solutions, serving as a subject matter expert in Business Intelligence, and collaborating with various stakeholders to optimize data insights.
Responsibilities:
• Brings in-depth knowledge of Power BI and BI architecture to strategic planning and architect meetings, ensuring that the best BI architecture is deployed within Allied’s ecosystem
• Analyzes, models, and interprets data for the purposes of optimized reporting
• Establishes and applies Business Intelligence and UI/UX best practices to all BI solutions across the enterprise
• Plays key role in BI application support through researching bugs and implementing solutions
• Supports BI embedding efforts within Allied software as well as third party technology
• Works closely with the Data Management department to ensure that the data is accessible and accurate, and addresses any data gaps when applicable
• Acts as the lead BI developer for Allied, using the software of choice, Power BI
• Consults with the enterprise to build reporting requirements and develop meaningful, self-service BI reporting solutions
• Reverse engineers legacy reports to understand how they were developed by the business to then translate into a BI report or dashboard
• Communicates both data and technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Acts as an enterprise SME for Power BI and helps to evangelize Business Intelligence across the organization
• Conducts training on BI technology with internal and external customers as needed
• Mentors and develops other data analysts and BI developers
• Research market trends in analytics, BI, and financial services industries
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelors degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required. Field of Study: STEM, Informatics, Computer Science, Analytics, MIS
• 5 – 7 years related work experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Business Intelligence Developer or in a related Data Analytics role required
• 3+ years’ experience developing and deploying reports in Microsoft Power BI required
• Expert in Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) language required
• 3+ years’ experience in Structured Query Language (SQL) required
• Advanced understanding of data file structures, relational databases, and dimensional modeling concepts required
Preferred:
• Microsoft Power BI Certifications
• Experience with Snowflake or other cloud-based Data Warehouse and Data Lake environments
