How You Will Contribute

The Renovation Technician performs skilled renovation, carpentry, and interior improvement work to ensure apartment homes, amenity spaces, and community interiors meet South Oxford Managements standards for quality, craftsmanship, appearance, and functionality. This role specializes in apartment renovations and finish work, bringing attention to detail and pride of workmanship to every project.

Things You Will Do

Renovation & Construction

  • Perform apartment and community renovation work, including demolition, installation, repair, and finish carpentry.
  • Install and repair cabinetry, interior and exterior doors, trim, molding, and hardware.
  • Install plumbing fixtures including faucets, sinks, toilets, and related components.
  • Install and replace lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, switches, and other electrical fixtures within the scope of experience and company guidelines.
  • Perform tile installation and repair, including layout, cutting, setting, and grout work.
  • Execute carpentry projects involving framing, trim work, shelving, and finish details.
  • Complete renovation punch lists and ensure all work meets Company quality standards.
  • Assist with apartment upgrades and value-add projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, and interior finishes.
  • Coordinate and support renovation schedules to ensure projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain renovation materials, tools, and workspace in an organized and professional manner.

Customer Service & Teamwork

  • Work collaboratively with maintenance teams, supervisors, vendors, and contractors to deliver high-quality renovations.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and take pride in the appearance and workmanship of every completed project.
  • Help ensure renovated apartment homes and amenity areas exceed resident and prospect expectations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Community Manager.

Safety & Property Standards

  • Think safety first and ensure all work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Maintain awareness of jobsite hazards and correct unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Properly store, maintain, and use hand and power tools.
  • Report major repair issues or renovation concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor or Community Manager.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and utilize appropriate PPE during renovation activities.

Skilled Trade Work

  • Safely operate wet saws, dry saws, tile cutters, drills, nail guns, routers, sanders, and other carpentry and construction tools.
  • Measure, cut, level, and install materials with precision and accuracy.
  • Read and follow renovation scopes, plans, specifications, and punch lists.
  • Identify construction defects or installation concerns and proactively recommend solutions.
  • Ensure completed work reflects strong craftsmanship and an eye for detail.

Things You Will Need

  • Valid drivers license.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in apartment renovations, construction, or skilled trades preferred.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, overtime, and project deadlines when necessary.
  • Ability to walk properties, climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and lift materials.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to work in occupied and vacant apartment homes as renovation needs require.
