Summary

The renovation associate requires a hard-working and reliable employee to join the BAM Construction team. The ideal candidate will participate in a variety of construction projects and follow construction plans and instructions from the site supervisor. Experience in the industry is not essential, but applicants will have to be physically fit and a fast learner, as is in line with the essential functions of the position. To be successful, any applicant will need to work well as part of a team, have a desire to understand the construction industry, and be a go-getter.

Essential Job Functions

  • Demo Day: Safely removing old carpet, appliances, and fixtures to prep units for a fresh look.
  • Paint & Patch: Learning the art of professional drywall repair and high-speed interior painting.
  • Installation Assistance: Helping install new flooring (LVP), kitchen cabinets, and modern light fixtures.
  • Detailing: Performing the final "punch list" items-installing outlet covers, cabinet hardware, and ensuring the unit is spotless for a new resident.

Exterior & Grounds Maintenance

  • Curb Appeal: Power washing buildings, cleaning up construction debris and assisting with all manner of exterior repairs.
  • Seasonal Projects: Helping with exterior painting and basic landscaping repairs as needed.


Required Education and Experience

  • Able to work in a team
  • The "Right" Attitude: You take pride in your work, you're eager to learn, and you aren't afraid to get your hands dirty.
  • Reliability: You have a valid driver's license and dependable transportation to get to the job site every day.
  • Basic Tools: Familiarity with a tape measure, hammer, and screwdriver.
  • Communication: Ability to follow instructions clearly and maintain a polite, professional attitude around our residents.
  •  Physical Ability: Must be able to lift 70+ lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Preferred Education and Experience

Experience in operating construction equipment

  • Experience: 0-2 years in construction, landscaping, or general labor. 
  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes and/or airborne  particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and at job sites  can be loud. 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those which must be met by an employee to  perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is  very active and involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing  all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities  required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception,  and ability to adjust focus. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position; hours of work will vary Monday - Friday.

Travel

This is a primarily local assignment during the business day, although some out-of-area travel may be expected.
