About the Role
The Construction Technician II is a hands-on role supporting apartment renovation and construction management efforts. This position focuses on interior demolition, installation, finishing, and quality control to ensure renovated units are safe, functional, and ready for residents.
What You'll Do
Below is a snapshot of what this role is all about. While there is more to it, this is the core focus.
Interior Demolition & Preparation
• Remove lights, plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, hardware, and other interior components
• Perform drywall and door repair as part of renovation preparation
• Maintain a clean and safe work area during demolition activities
Installation & Finish Work
• Install lighting, plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, hardware, and window coverings
• Complete drywall repair, painting, and interior finish work
• Use power and hand tools safely and effectively
Punch, Quality & Unit Readiness
• Complete punch and finish work to make units "Rent Ready"
• Support inspections by the Superintendent and Property Management
• Monitor unit turn schedules and unit status
Materials & Coordination
• Control and organize purchased renovation materials within units
• Assist with monitoring subcontractors performing work in units
• Unlock and lock units for renovation teams and subcontractors

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience
• At least 2 years of prior experience with electrical, plumbing, appliance installation, drywall repair and painting.
• Knowledge and ability to use power and hand tools.
• Experience working in occupied or vacant residential renovation environments preferred.
• Experience coordinating with subcontractors and construction teams preferred.

This position is non-exempt; the range above reflects hourly rates.
The pay range displayed for this position is determined by skills and experience required, location and job complexity*. Potential job offers may vary based on the skills, education, and experience an individual candidate holds. This range reflects base rate only, and does not include allowances, perks, commissions or bonuses applicable to this position (if any). In addition to base salary, Fairfield offers all full time associates the following, upon meeting eligibility requirements:
