Job description

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and Louisiana State University Health Science Center-Shreveport Seeking experienced and motivated leader for Hospital Medicine Section within the Department of Medicine at LSU Health Shreveport, an integrated teaching hospital and health system in partnership with Ochsner Health. Position would include clinical work as a hospitalist, publishing the schedule for faculty hospitalists, creating/tracking/incentivizing quality metrics for the hospital medicine program. Responsibilities would also involve teaching house staff and medical students, ensuring learner evaluation completion, annual performance evaluations on all hospitalists. The position would include membership on the Medical Executive Committee of the hospital and expect other committee membership and participation.

Qualifications:

  • Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Hospital Medicine by ABIM.
  • Academic experience preferred but not required.
  • Five years experience as a hospitalist.
  • Excellent skills with regard to clinical medicine, leadership, communication, teaching.
