Job Summary

The Vice President, Business Development - Workforce Solutions & Insights (WSI) is responsible for driving new business acquisition, strategic client growth, and consulting services revenue within healthcare organizations. This role develops and executes targeted business development strategies, builds executive-level relationships, and positions workforce consulting, analytics, and advisory solutions with healthcare leaders.

The VP serves as a consultative sales leader, identifying market opportunities, developing a robust pipeline of prospective clients, and managing complex sales cycles from initial outreach through contract execution. Success in this role requires deep knowledge of the healthcare landscape, the ability to engage senior decision-makers, and experience selling strategic solutions to large health systems and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs).

This role will support both new logo acquisition and the renewal and expansion of existing WSI consulting engagements, driving long-term client growth and partnership.

Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid) or Remote

Travel: Approximately 30-40% travel, primarily for client meetings, presentations, executive relationship building, and business development activities. Travel may be lighter during the initial ramp-up period as the pipeline is being established.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & New Client Acquisition
  • Generate new business opportunities through strategic prospecting, networking, referrals, market analysis, and targeted outreach
  • Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of healthcare organizations, health systems, and IDNs
  • Identify market opportunities where Workforce Solutions & Insights (WSI) consulting services can deliver measurable value
  • Secure new consulting agreements and expand relationships within existing client organizations
Executive Relationship Management
  • Develop relationships with executive healthcare leaders, including:
    • Chief Human Resource Officers (CHROs)
    • Chief Nursing Officers (CNOs)
    • Chief Operating Officers (COOs)
    • Chief Financial Officers (CFOs)
    • Other senior workforce and operational leaders
  • Establish credibility as a trusted advisor through consultative engagement and industry expertise
  • Conduct onsite client visits, executive meetings, presentations, and proposal discussions
Consultative Sales & Solution Development
  • Lead discovery conversations to understand workforce, operational, financial, and staffing challenges
  • Develop and deliver tailored proposals, presentations, and consulting solutions
  • Position workforce consulting, analytics, and advisory services aligned with client strategic objectives
  • Manage complex sales cycles that may range from approximately 6-9 months from initial engagement to contract execution
Pipeline & Market Growth
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity tracking
  • Identify strategic partnerships and market expansion opportunities
  • Monitor healthcare workforce trends, competitive activity, and industry developments
  • Collaborate with internal consulting and delivery teams to align resources with client demand
QualificationsEducation & Years of Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Required Experience
  • Experience in healthcare consulting, healthcare workforce consulting, healthcare analytics, healthcare operations, or related healthcare services
  • Proven success in business development, consultative sales, or revenue-generating client-facing roles
  • Experience selling to large healthcare systems, hospitals, or Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs)
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with executive healthcare decision-makers
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles and professional services engagements
  • Experience developing proposals, presentations, and consulting solutions for healthcare clients

    Pay Rate$148,000 - $185,000 Salary
