Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Social Media Project Manager based in Netherlands.

Join a mission-driven, remote-first organization working across continents and time zones to deliver impactful communications initiatives.
In this role, you'll help shape and execute social media programs while coordinating high-visibility campaigns and broader communications projects.
You'll serve as a central project management partner connecting social, content, creative, marketing, PR, analytics, and external collaborators.
Your work will ensure complex initiatives stay organized, aligned with strategic priorities, and delivered on time and within scope.
You'll have significant influence across distributed teams, building strong collaboration and accountability without relying on direct authority.
The role offers an opportunity to improve workflows, remove bottlenecks, and strengthen how global communications projects are delivered.
This is a one-year remote contract suited to an experienced project manager who thrives in collaborative, multicultural, and fast-changing environments.

Accountabilities
  • Partner with senior social media leadership to plan and deliver evergreen social initiatives, campaigns, strategic programs, and related communications projects.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, defining scope, milestones, timelines, deliverables, responsibilities, dependencies, and communication plans.
  • Coordinate cross-functional contributors across social media, creators, content, creative, design, video, community, PR, marketing, analytics, and external partners.
  • Lead project kickoffs, status meetings, stakeholder check-ins, retrospectives, and other forums that maintain alignment and momentum.
  • Build and maintain project workflows in Asana, tracking deliverables, dependencies, resources, risks, and shifting priorities across distributed teams.
  • Proactively identify roadblocks, resource constraints, risks, and scope changes, escalating critical issues and helping teams develop practical solutions.
  • Work with leadership and stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, align resources and timelines, and connect project execution to broader communications goals.
  • Coordinate content and campaign workflows from development and review through approval and publication, ensuring delivery remains on schedule and within scope.
  • Develop project documentation, processes, dashboards, and reporting that provide clear visibility into project health, progress, and campaign performance.
  • Establish effective communication practices, decision-making processes, team norms, and expectations across multiple time zones.
  • Build trusted relationships across teams while influencing without direct authority and promoting accountability, inclusion, and shared ownership.
  • Lead retrospectives and implement process improvements that reduce bottlenecks and improve team effectiveness and delivery.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in social media project management, communications project management, or a comparable role.
  • At least 2 years of experience working remotely with distributed or geographically diverse teams.
  • Hands-on experience with Asana and Google Workspace or comparable project and collaboration tools.
  • Strong project management capabilities across prioritization, planning, organization, time management, stakeholder management, facilitation, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Experience coordinating complex, cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders, dependencies, and concurrent priorities.
  • Strong understanding of social media and campaign operations, including content development, review, approval, and publication workflows.
  • Ability to anticipate risks, manage dependencies, resolve roadblocks, and maintain accountability across teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different communication styles and collaborate across cultures and time zones.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without formal authority and build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity, changing priorities, and complex or evolving project requirements.
  • Highly dependable, flexible, collaborative, and solutions-oriented approach.
  • A mission-driven mindset and genuine interest in contributing to work with broad public and social impact.
  • Openness, curiosity, creativity, resilience, and a strong commitment to inclusive and equitable collaboration.
  • Experience working within an international organization or distributed workforce is a plus.
  • Fluency in languages in addition to English is a plus.
  • Previous nonprofit experience is a plus.
Benefits
  • One-year remote contract.
  • Opportunity to work remotely from Germany as part of a globally distributed organization.
