Job description

Deep Roots. Solid Growth. Caring People.
Rooted in Wyoming! We are Blue Cross Blue Shield Wyoming: a not-for-profit health insurer with offices throughout the state. Ever since a small group of caring, persistent Wyoming women helped us put down roots in 1945, everything we do is aimed at better health care for the people of Wyoming.
Our Vision: We envision a future where integrity, compassion, and trust define a local health insurance experience. Committed to doing the right thing for our members, employees, and community, we strive to protect and contribute to the health and care of all we serve.
Our Mission: provide our members with access to local health insurance solutions that prioritize health, care, and well-being for those who call Wyoming home.
If our passion and purpose resonate with you, you may be who we are looking for. The role we are looking to fill:
As the Security Administrator with the BCBSWY IT Team, you will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions across all enterprise systems and network solutions and infrastructure. Your work will focus on maintaining a secure, resilient environment that protects organizational assets and supports secure access for users. You will oversee antivirus and malware protection for all endpoints, including configuration, maintenance, and deployment.
You will conduct searches and investigations related to information security detections, user activity, and potential security indicators throughout the environment, ensuring timely identification and escalation of risks. You will also be accountable for producing vulnerability reports on a regular schedule to support continuous security improvement and compliance. Additionally, you will be involved with an information technology security overview and review for vendors associated with BCBSWY.
You will collaborate closely with all other BCBSWY IT administrators to support shared initiatives and maintain consistent operational performance. You will work with host site support personnel to maintain remote applications and ensure reliable access for end users. You will provide management with weekly and special reports to ensure that issues, trends, and processing requirements are identified and addressed in a timely manner. Additionally, you will serve in a backup capacity for other team members as needed or assigned, supporting continuity and stability within the IT environment.
To be successful in this role, you must have a deep understanding of advanced network security concepts, protocols, security events and information management, and cloud security tools and policies. You should be able to configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and endpoint security solutions. Proficiency in managing user access, permissions, Active Directory, and Multi-Factor Authentication is essential.
You must demonstrate strong ability to identify vulnerabilities, interpret common vulnerabilities and exposures, and assess potential risks within the environment. A desire to learn new skills and work with new technologies is critical for continued growth and effectiveness in this position.
Minimum qualifications include an associate degree in Information Technology or a related field; directly related work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. A minimum of two years of directly related work experience-typically in a systems security-related field-is preferred. Specialized certifications that support and validate systems security knowledge are also preferred.
