What is remote work?

Remote work refers to a work arrangement where employees perform their job duties outside of a traditional office, typically from home or another location of their choice. This setup relies heavily on technology, such as computers, internet, and collaboration tools, to communicate and complete tasks. Remote work can offer greater flexibility, reduce commuting time, and allow for a better work-life balance. Many companies support remote work either full-time or as part of a hybrid model, depending on the nature of the job and organizational needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote worker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a remote worker, you need strong self-management, time management, and communication skills, often supported by relevant experience in your field. Familiarity with collaboration tools like Zoom, Slack, and project management systems such as Trello or Asana is typically required. Proactive problem-solving, adaptability, and self-motivation are standout soft skills for remote work settings. These abilities are crucial to maintain productivity, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively while working independently from various locations.

How do remote workers typically stay connected and collaborate effectively with their teams?

Remote workers often rely on a combination of digital communication tools, such as video conferencing platforms, instant messaging apps, and project management software, to maintain strong connections with their teams. Regular check-ins, virtual meetings, and clear documentation help ensure alignment and accountability. Building rapport can require extra effort, so many teams schedule informal virtual gatherings or 'coffee chats' to foster camaraderie. Successful remote collaboration depends on proactive communication, transparency, and adaptability to different time zones and work styles.

ATS Integration and Reporting Analyst - Workable to UKG Pro (1099 Contract)

Hueman People Solutions

Remote

Contractor

Job description

Description
ATS Integration and Reporting Analyst - Workable to UKG Pro
Independent Contractor (1099) • Approximately 175 hours over ~13 weeks • Remote (U.S.)
Hueman People Solutions is engaged by a national healthcare organization delivering in-home care across more than 30 states. We are implementing Workable Premier as their applicant tracking and candidate relationship platform, and we need a contractor to own the integration layer between that ATS and their core HCM, plus the talent acquisition reporting built on top of it.
This is a hands-on build, not an advisory role. You will design and configure the integration, prove it works, and hand over documentation a support team can run from. Cutover is mid-December with hypercare into early January, so the timeline is fixed and the work is real.
Read this Before You Apply
We receive a high volume of applications from adjacent-but-different backgrounds, so we are being direct about what does not qualify. You are not a fit for this role if:
  • Your integration experience is Workday, Oracle HCM, SAP, or PeopleSoft rather than UKG Pro.
  • Your UKG experience is Workforce Management, Dimensions, Workforce Central, or Kronos. This role is UKG Pro core HR. Timekeeping, scheduling, accruals, and pay-rule configuration are a different product line and a different job.
  • You have never worked with an applicant tracking system. Business-process configuration inside an HCM is not the same as ATS configuration.
  • Your reporting experience is workforce metrics - headcount, attrition, turnover - rather than talent acquisition metrics like time-to-fill, source of hire, and funnel conversion.
  • You are a data engineer, BI developer, or software engineer without HR systems domain experience.

What You Will Build
  • A bidirectional integration between Workable and UKG Pro covering requisition sync, new hire handoff, and day-one payroll and benefits setup.
  • Field mapping, error handling, and reconciliation design, including what happens on a near-match and when the integration should stop and queue for human review.
  • Background check and credentialing handoff, and job board distribution connections.
  • Single sign-on and role-based access provisioning.
  • A reporting layer covering time-to-fill, source performance, funnel conversion, and pipeline health - native ATS reporting where it suffices, BI views where it does not.
  • An integration inventory and the cost inputs behind it.
  • Test scripts, execution evidence, and technical documentation for handover.

Required Qualifications
  • Five or more years in HRIS, HR technology integration, or people analytics.
  • At least two integration builds between an applicant tracking system and a core HCM that you personally designed and configured.
  • Hands-on UKG Pro experience - core HR, not Workforce Management.
  • Working experience with at least one modern ATS (Workable, Greenhouse, Lever, iCIMS, SmartRecruiters, Jobvite, or Bullhorn).
  • REST APIs, webhooks, and SFTP or flat-file transfer, with real error handling.
  • Built reporting on talent acquisition metrics, with a defensible definition of time-to-fill.
  • Single sign-on and role-based access configuration.
  • Comfort working in a HIPAA-adjacent environment under a business associate agreement.
  • An established business entity, sole proprietorship or the ability to establish one before contract start.

Strong Pulses
  • Middleware experience - Workato, Boomi, or Merge.
  • Healthcare provider environments, or multi-state high-volume hiring.
  • Power BI or comparable BI tooling against ATS data.
  • Background screening and credentialing vendor integrations.

Engagement Terms
Structure: Independent contractor (1099), deliverables-based statement of work.
Effort: Approximately 175 hours over roughly 13 weeks
Term: Build phase through cutover in mid-December, with hypercare into early January. Availability across those weeks is required.
Location: Remote, United States.
Timeline: Project kickoff late August/early September.
You determine the means, methods, sequence, and schedule of the work, subject only to the deliverables, acceptance criteria, and milestone dates in the statement of work. You supply your own equipment and workspace, except where the client provisions system access. Payment is against invoices per the SOW; a W-9 is required before first payment and a 1099-NEC will be issued. You are responsible for all applicable taxes, including self-employment tax.
This engagement has a defined end date and does not create an expectation of continued or renewed work. You are free to serve other clients during the term, subject to the confidentiality and conflict provisions of the agreement. A confidentiality agreement and a business associate agreement are required before system access, given proximity to protected health information. All work product is delivered as work made for hire to Hueman People Solutions.
How to Apply
Upload your resume along with short answers to these three questions. Please keep it to a page, we read every one, and thoughtful beats long.
  1. Which UKG product have you personally built or configured integrations for? Select the one that best describes the majority of your work: UKG Pro (core HR / HCM), UKG Pro Workforce Management, Dimensions, or Workforce Central (timekeeping and scheduling), UKG Ready, I have not worked with UKG.
  2. Name the applicant tracking systems you have personally configured or integrated, and state what you did in each. If you have not worked with an ATS, please write "none."
  3. In your most recent ATS build, what did you personally configure in the admin console, and what did you specify for someone else to build?

We're asking because these are the three things that most reliably distinguish someone who has done this work from someone who has read about it. A resume that matches this posting closely tells us less than one specific story.
