What is remote wine label design?

Remote wine label design is the process of creating distinctive and appealing wine bottle labels while working from a location outside of a traditional office or winery, typically from home or a freelance setting. Designers collaborate with clients, such as wineries or wine distributors, using digital tools to conceptualize, revise, and finalize label artwork. This role often includes market research, understanding regulatory requirements, and ensuring the label reflects the brand’s identity, all done via online communication and file sharing. Remote wine label designers use graphic design software to produce label layouts that are both legally compliant and visually attractive to consumers.

What is the difference between Remote Wine Label Design vs Remote Graphic Designer?

Remote Wine Label Design specializes in creating visual labels specifically for wine bottles, requiring industry-specific branding knowledge. Remote Graphic Designer covers a broader range of design projects across multiple industries. While both roles require strong design skills and software proficiency, wine label designers focus on branding within the beverage sector, making their work more niche compared to the versatile scope of graphic designers.

What are some common challenges faced when working remotely as a wine label designer, and how can they be managed?

Remote wine label designers often face challenges such as limited in-person collaboration with clients and team members, which can make it difficult to fully understand a brand's vision or receive timely feedback. To manage these challenges, it's important to establish clear communication channels, use collaborative design tools, and schedule regular virtual check-ins to ensure alignment throughout the design process. Additionally, understanding regulatory requirements for wine labels and staying updated on industry trends are essential to deliver compliant and competitive designs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Wine Label Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Wine Label Designer, you need strong graphic design skills, a solid portfolio showcasing relevant work, and knowledge of branding principles, often supported by a degree in graphic design or a related field. Mastery of design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign is essential, and familiarity with digital collaboration tools is highly beneficial. Creativity, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help designers interpret client visions and collaborate remotely. These abilities are crucial for creating visually appealing, compliant, and marketable wine labels that stand out in a competitive industry.

If you're a talented, ambitious person who wants to create the best health and wellness products, apply to join our team!
ABOUT THE POSITION
We're looking for a Senior Marketing Designer with deep experience in CPG and e-commerce who can own projects from idea to execution. This is not an entry-level role. You'll be expected to bring strategic thinking, strong design skills, and a CRO mindset to every project-then back it up with performance.
You'll work across paid social (Meta ads), websites/landing pages, packaging, and print, turning creative briefs into high-performing concepts and assets. You should be just as comfortable in a fast-paced testing environment as you are crafting a beautiful, print-ready dieline.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
  • Concept & Design
    • Develop and pitch design concepts based on creative briefs and performance goals.
    • Create static and motion assets for Meta ads (Facebook/Instagram) that are optimized for performance.
    • Design high-converting landing pages and on-site assets with CRO in mind (above-the-fold, hierarchy, CTAs, etc.).
    • Design CPG packaging and print materials (boxes, pouches, labels, displays, sell sheets, etc.).
  • CRO & Performance
    • Collaborate with marketing and growth teams to plan and execute A/B tests on creative (ad concepts, hooks, layouts, offers).
    • Interpret performance data and use it to iterate on designs, improve CTR, conversion rate, and overall funnel performance.
    • Propose new creative tests based on insights, trends, and competitor research.
  • Ownership & Collaboration
    • Work as a self-starter, managing your own projects, timelines, and priorities.
    • Contribute to and help evolve the visual identity across digital and print.
    • Present and defend your design decisions to stakeholders with clear rationale tied to performance and brand.
    • Collaborate closely with marketing, e-commerce, and product teams.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • 5+ years of professional design experience, with a strong focus on CPG and e-commerce.
  • Proven experience designing Meta ads (Facebook/Instagram) that have actually shipped and been tested at scale.
  • Hands-on CRO experience:
    • Landing page design for conversion
    • Familiarity with A/B testing and working with performance data
  • Solid portfolio of CPG work:
    • Packaging design (3D mockups, dielines, print-ready files)
    • Print collateral (POS, inserts, postcards, etc.)
  • Strong skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and/or Figma.
  • Clear understanding of e-commerce flows ( PDPs, landing pages, email graphics, ad → landing page continuity ).
  • Ability to lead yourself: you don't wait for step-by-step direction and are comfortable owning projects end-to-end.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, test-and-learn, CRO-driven environment.
  • Strong communication skills: you can explain why something is designed a certain way in plain language, backed by logic and data.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with DTC brands in food, beverage, supplements, or similar CPG categories.
  • Familiarity with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms.
  • Basic understanding of performance marketing metrics (CTR, CVR, ROAS, etc.).
  • Experience with simple motion/animated assets for ads (e.g. After Effects, Premiere, or similar tools).

THE NITTY GRITTY
  • Full time market-based compensation based on experience
  • Fully remote with flexibility and autonomy
  • Collaborative and innovative team culture
  • Health (medical, dental, vision) benefits and 401k benefits offered after 60 days
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Paid parental leave
  • Remote Work and Education Stipend
  • Truvani Monthly Store Credit
  • Position is available immediately and will remain open until filled
  • This is a permanent position with an opportunity to grow within the company (so we would like to hire someone that is awesome and is excited about being a part of our team).
