Your Purpose:

The Program Consultant plays a vital role in implementing NTC's programming and professional learning with leaders and educators across systems. This position is responsible for knowing our partners and building the capacity of teachers, coaches, leaders, and others to implement instruction that addresses the needs of every learner with an ever-present attention to academic excellence and joyful learning, ensuring alignment with NTC's strategic goals and commitment to empowering students and communities.

What Will You Do:

Under the direction of the Senior Program Consultant or the Director, Program and Partnerships, the Program Consultant may design and facilitate professional learning, coach leaders and teachers, and provide consultation on program implementation across multiple contexts and contracts. Staff in Program Delivery have job responsibilities that align with three categories of work: Project, People, and Relationships & Revenue Generation. Some of the key functions of the Program Consultant role are outlined below.


Project: The majority of the Program Consultant's time is spent executing the delivery of services across multiple projects.

  • Design and Delivery of Professional Development: Use content and instructional expertise to create and deliver content effectively aligned to an identified scope and sequence that is grounded in NTC foundational frameworks, materials, and resources.

  • Stakeholder Development and Support: Effectively coach stakeholder groups at the district, school, and program levels to support contract goals.

  • Contract Strategy: Participate in the execution of the contract strategy and/or take the lead on small contract strategies and management.


People: While the Program Consultants do not directly manage staff, they still play an integral role in contributing to the staff culture.

  • Team Culture and Development: Support NTC colleagues in building team and organizational culture, including embodying NTC's Core Values

  • Feedback: Give feedback to peers and managers.

  • Organizational Priorities: Demonstrate a commitment to organizational priorities and support partners in understanding them.

  • Learning Orientation: Participate in internal learning opportunities and set and work toward individual learning goals.


Relationships and Revenue Generation: Program Consultants are key enablers of NTC's revenue strategy as they hold close relationships with our partners.

  • Deliver Best-in-Class Partner Experiences: Lead consultation and professional learning, and build relationships with partners that lead to high satisfaction rates.

  • Contract Renewals: Participate in the renewal process for assigned projects by engaging in conversations throughout the year with partners. These conversations include learning about what's working for partners and listening for places where NTC might be able to expand work.

  • Lead Generation: Generate new leads for business development through engaging with local context, identifying new ideas, and creating connection points for new business opportunities aligned to organizational strategy.

  • Regional Philanthropy: Contribute to the development of concept papers for regional funders and identify connection points between NTC partners and possible funding.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of recent classroom teaching experience (6-12 Math) preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years designing and facilitating professional learning for adults, and experience coaching/mentoring teachers and/or school leaders.

  • Significant experience in mathematics and/or multilingual learner instruction preferred

  • Experience leading a program or a team to execute an extended program or strategy is preferred.

  • Must be experienced with the shifts in standards based on Common Core, and know aligned, effective teaching practices in grades 6-12 Math.

  • Valid teaching and/or administrative certificate/licensure preferred.

  • Effective organizational skills - the ability to work across multiple projects and successfully manage one's time and productivity in a fluid, team-oriented work environment with a high level of initiative, creativity, and flexibility.

  • Ability to balance travel, delivery, design, and participation in internal learning, team meetings, and other organizational and team collaboration opportunities.

  • Willingness to travel based on project assignments - up to 50%.

  • General knowledge of Google Apps, Adobe Acrobat, and virtual meeting software.


What We Offer:

This position offers a competitive starting salary range of $83,385-$90,743 and a robust benefits package. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary closer to the start of the range. At NTC, in determining a salary offer for a role, we consider the role, experience, and skills needed while maintaining equity in our compensation bands. For this and other reasons, we have adopted a no-negotiation policy.
