How do Remote UX/UI Designers typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design consistency and alignment?

Remote UX/UI Designers often work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders through virtual meetings, collaborative design tools, and project management platforms. Regular communication via video calls, chat, and shared documentation helps ensure everyone is aligned on project goals and design decisions. Designers frequently use tools like Figma or Sketch for real-time feedback and version control, making it easier to maintain design consistency across distributed teams. This collaborative workflow helps bridge the gap between design and development, even when team members are in different locations.

Is UI/UX still in demand?

UI/UX designers are in high demand as companies prioritize user-centered digital experiences. Skills in design tools like Figma and understanding user research are valuable, and remote opportunities continue to grow across various industries.

Can UI/UX be done remotely?

Remote UI/UX designers can work from anywhere with a reliable internet connection, using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch for collaboration and design. Many companies now offer remote positions, and the role often requires strong communication skills and a good portfolio to demonstrate design expertise.

What is the difference between Remote Ux Ui Designer vs Remote Product Designer?

AspectRemote Ux Ui DesignerRemote Product Designer
CredentialsDesign degree, portfolio, proficiency in design toolsDesign or related degree, portfolio, understanding of product lifecycle
Work EnvironmentCollaborates with UI/UX teams, focuses on user experience and interface designWorks across design, engineering, and product teams, involved in overall product strategy
Industry UsageCommon in tech, digital agencies, startupsPrevalent in tech companies, SaaS, and product-focused organizations

While both roles involve design skills, a Remote Ux Ui Designer primarily focuses on creating user interfaces and enhancing user experience, whereas a Remote Product Designer takes a broader role, shaping the overall product design and strategy. Is UI/UX replaced by AI?

UI/UX designers play a crucial role in creating user-centered digital experiences, and while AI tools can assist with tasks like prototyping and data analysis, they do not replace the need for human creativity, empathy, and strategic thinking in design. AI can augment a UI/UX designer’s work but cannot fully replace the nuanced understanding of user needs and aesthetic judgment required in the role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote UX/UI Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote UX/UI Designer, you need a strong grasp of user-centered design principles, proficiency in wireframing and prototyping, and a portfolio demonstrating your design process. Excellent communication, collaboration, and time-management skills are crucial for remote work and effective teamwork. These skills ensure you can create intuitive, visually appealing interfaces while efficiently collaborating with distributed teams and stakeholders.

Are there remote UX UI jobs?

Yes, remote UX/UI designer roles are widely available across various industries. These jobs often require skills in design tools like Figma or Adobe XD and may involve collaboration through project management platforms, making remote work a common option for qualified candidates.

What are Remote UX/UI Designers?

Remote UX/UI Designers are professionals who work from locations outside of a traditional office to design and improve the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) of digital products like websites and mobile apps. They collaborate with teams using online tools to conduct user research, create wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs. Their goal is to ensure digital products are intuitive, visually appealing, and user-friendly, regardless of where they are working from.

Job description

#WeAreTradeStation
Remote Position - must reside in Florida, Texas, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Colorado, Idaho, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Utah or Virginia
Who We Are:
TradeStation is the home of those born to trade. As an online brokerage firm and trading ecosystem, we are focused on delivering the ultimate trading experience for active traders and institutions. We continuously push the boundaries of what's possible, encourage out-of-the-box thinking, and relentlessly search for like-minded innovators.
At TradeStation, we are building an AI-First culture. We expect team members to embrace AI as a core part of their daily workflow, whether that’s using AI to accelerate development, enhance decision-making, improve client outcomes, or streamline internal processes. We hire, grow, and promote people who can harness AI responsibly and creatively. We treat AI as a partner in problem-solving, not just a tool; following our governance standards to ensure AI is used ethically, securely, and transparently. If you join us, you’re joining a culture where AI is how we work.
Are you ready to make yourself at home?
What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a Senior UX/UI Designer to join our UI/UX and CRO team. This individual will own the web design system, lead UX strategy for our digital properties, and ensure every web experience is purposeful, on-brand, and conversion-aware. The ideal candidate thinks deeply about user behavior and business goals before opening a design tool, produces polished, developer-ready Figma files, and can defend their design decisions to stakeholders with clarity and confidence. They will also serve as the design authority for shared marketing resources executing within the established design system. We are also looking for someone with genuine creative ambition - someone who follows Awards, gets excited by FWA winners, and wants to build experiences that make the industry take notice. They embrace AI as a core part of their creative workflow. We are building toward award-winning web experiences and are looking for people who share that ambition.
The Sr. UX/UI Designer is the creative and strategic design lead for all web experiences at TradeStation Marketing. This role sets the visual and interaction standard, governs the design system, and ensures every page, component, and user flow is grounded in user needs and conversion intent. This is a senior individual contributor role with broad influence across the team and key stakeholder relationships.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Design System Ownership
  • Build, maintain, and govern a comprehensive design system in Figma including typography, color, spacing, components, and usage guidelines that serve as the single source of truth for all web design
  • Serve as the design authority for shared marketing resources, ensuring all creative produced outside the team adheres to established brand and design standards
UX Strategy and Research
  • Lead UX research initiatives including user interviews, usability testing, and behavioral analysis to inform design decisions with real user insights
  • Translate business goals and user needs into clear information architecture, user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes
UI Design and Figma Handoff
  • Produce polished, developer-ready Figma files with accurate specs, component annotations, responsive breakpoints, and interaction notes that enable clean handoff to the Front-End Developer
  • Design web pages, landing pages, UI components, and interactive features that balance aesthetic quality with conversion performance and accessibility compliance
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partner closely with the Senior Full-Stack Developer on design feasibility, technical constraints, and implementation accuracy, and with the Marketing Analytics and AI Specialist to incorporate conversion data into design decisions
  • Present and defend design decisions to stakeholders with clear rationale rooted in user research, brand standards, and business objectives
AI and Design Innovation
  • Actively incorporate AI tools into the design workflow for concepting, rapid iteration, asset generation, and design QA to increase speed and output quality
  • Stay current on UX trends, design tooling, and emerging best practices and bring forward recommendations that improve the team’s design quality and efficiency
The Skills You Bring:
  • Mastery of Figma including components, variables, auto-layout, prototyping, and developer handoff. Able to produce files that require no interpretation by the development team
  • Deep expertise in UX methodology including user research, usability testing, journey mapping, information architecture, and conversion-centered design
  • Proven ability to build and govern a design system at scale, including component libraries, usage documentation, and cross-team adoption
  • Strong visual design sensibility, typography, color theory, layout, hierarchy, and brand application across web environments
  • Adobe Creative Suite proficiency, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator for image editing, vector work, and asset preparation
  • Solid understanding of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and the ability to design inclusively from the start rather than retrofitting compliance
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with developers on technical feasibility and implementation accuracy, with a working understanding of how designs translate to code
  • Strong presentation and communication skills. Able to articulate design rationale clearly to non-design stakeholders and incorporate feedback constructively
  • Comfortable using AI tools for design concepting, rapid iteration, and asset generation to increase creative throughput
  • Motion design and micro-interaction experience (CSS animations, After Effects, or similar) preferred
  • A distinctive creative point of view - able to push beyond convention and propose unexpected, memorable design directions that elevate the brand
  • Strong understanding of motion and interaction design as integral to the user experience, not decorative
  • Awareness of award-winning web design trends and the ability to draw inspiration from the broader creative industry including gaming, editorial, and art direction
  • Demonstrated experience owning or contributing to a design system in a team environment
  • Experience working within Agile or sprint-based workflows alongside developers and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Portfolio that includes live web projects demonstrating both UX strategy and high-fidelity visual design
  • Experience designing for financial services, fintech, or other regulated industry digital products preferred
  • Familiarity with conversion rate optimization principles and A/B testing as applied to web design decisions preferred
  • Portfolio that includes work that demonstrates award-caliber quality preferred
  • Experience directing motion and interaction design in collaboration with front-end developers preferred
  • Familiarity with TradeStation products and the online brokerage ecosystem preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional UX/UI design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end web design work from research through developer handoff
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience
What We Offer:
  • Collaborative work environment
  • Competitive Salaries
  • Yearly bonus
  • Comprehensive benefits for you and your family starting Day 1
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off
  • Flexible working environment
  • TradeStation Account employee benefits, as well as full access to trading education materials
  • Pay Range (US) $102-130K (Countries outside of the US have differing ranges in accordance with local labor markets)
