Job description

Position Overview
Vesta is seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Senior Product Designer to support the development of proprietary furniture, lighting, textiles, and décor collections across all product categories.
Reporting to the VP of Merchandising, this role will translate merchandising's creative direction, conceptual inspiration, and brand aesthetic into original, production-ready designs. The Senior Product Designer will also work closely with cross-functional partners in Product Development, Sourcing, and Manufacturing teams to support execution from concept through production.
The ideal candidate combines strong aesthetic sensibility with technical product knowledge and a deep understanding of luxury furniture and interiors. This individual should be highly collaborative, solutions-oriented, and comfortable creating a high volume of design work within fast-moving timelines.
Experience within the luxury design industry is required with exposure to retail, staging, and/or hospitality & contract furniture markets strongly preferred.
This position offers a salary range of $120,000-$150,000, based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design & Development
  • Design proprietary furniture and home product collections across upholstery, case goods, lighting, textiles, rugs, and accessories
  • Translate merchandising direction, trend research, and conceptual inspiration into original product concepts
  • Develop & present sketches, renderings, technical drawings, specifications, and design presentations
  • Prepare detailed product development packages including dimensions, materials, finishes, and construction direction

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Report directly to and collaborate closely with the Merchandising team throughout the design and development process
  • Partner with Product Development and interface with engineers and manufacturing partners as needed to support production feasibility, quality standards, and cost objectives
  • When applicable, participate in prototype reviews, sample evaluations, finish approvals, and product revisions
  • Help maintain product development timelines and support seasonal launch schedules

Technical Product Knowledge
  • Maintain strong understanding of furniture construction, upholstery methods, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Apply technical knowledge to ensure design concepts are executable within manufacturing parameters
  • Support communication between design intent and production execution across internal and external partners

Trend & Market Research
  • Research and monitor competitive landscape across luxury interiors, staging, retail, hospitality, and contract trends
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of Vesta's proprietary product aesthetic

Requirements
  • 5-8+ years of experience in furniture or home product design within luxury retail, interiors, hospitality, or contract sectors
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating original furniture and home product design work
  • Experience designing across multiple home categories preferred
  • Understanding of furniture construction, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience working with overseas and/or domestic manufacturers
  • Ability to balance creative design with technical execution and production realities
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, CAD software, and product specification development
