Job description

 Requisition ID:          66202 Title: Technical Artist III- UI/UX (REMOTE) Salary Range: Salary Minimum: $89,500 Salary Maximum:  $170,000.00

Main Objective: Assists in the development of high-end and innovative realtime software for medical visualizations including surgical techniques, advertisements, medical education, AR/VR products etc. Create high-quality, realistic, optimized, realtime visualizations and collaborate in a cross-functional team environment
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
1.    Continuously learns and implements new and experimental features, technical art tools, and solutions for emerging visual and XR technologies.
2.    Develop technical art solution for interactive, visual applications using established industry practices and technology.
3.    Assists in development of 3D models, animations, animation rigs, UI Design and textures using computer graphics software. Including incorporating models, animations, VFX, graphics, audio, video clips and other graphic assets into realtime applications
4.    Develops art solutions for creating highly realistic renderings for VR/AR, Web and Desktop 3D applications using cutting edge technologies.
5.    Develops artist tools and scripts in 3D software like Maya and engines like Unreal and Unity.
6.    Collaborate with other artists and developers to expand the 3D product library for real-time applications. 
7.    Collaborates with developers to make realtime visualizations that are easy to programmatically manipulate and use by multidisciplinary teams.
8.    Maintain proper documentation of processes, workflows, and configurations.
9.    Report progress and status of assigned tasks on a timely basis. 
10.    Works productively and harmoniously with medical education, developers, 3D animators, modelers and artists in a team driven environment.

Skills:

   Experience creating, integrating, or optimizing models, assets, graphics, lighting, materials, animations, animation rigs, skinning and VFX with Realtime engines like Unity and Unreal.
   Understanding of automation and preparation of Engineering models from cad software like Solidworks for use in realtime graphic applications.
   Experience with distributed version control systems such as Git or PlasticSCM.
   Understanding of the process of tracking artistic solution development using project management tools like Jira, Trello or Cloud CMS.
   Knowledge of company practices, standards, and collaboration in a team with diverse skillsets.

   Advanced knowledge of Realtime applications, and Engines.
   General knowledge of the 3D Realtime Art Pipeline. Including new AI art tools and traditional 3D art tools like Maya, 3DS Max , Zbrush, Houdini, Adobe Substance 3D Suite and Photoshop.
   Proficiency in scripting, automation and two or more of the following: art tool development, material nodes, rigging/skinning, VFX nodes, UI Design, creating and modifying shaders.
   Advanced knowledge of cutting edge realtime graphics technologies like virtual geometry, dynamic lighting, global illumination systems, ray tracing, particle systems, super sampling or custom shaders.
   Experience with one or more of the following: VR/AR specific rendering features, Virtual Production, profiling and optimizing graphics.
   Intermediate knowledge of the automation of art tasks, development of art pipelines, art workflow improvements, and art reusability using scripting in realtime engines or 3D software tools.
   Advanced knowledge of documentation practices.

Discretion/Latitude:

Work is performed under general direction. Participates in determining success metrics for work performed. Mentors lower-level personnel.

Education/Experience:

   Bachelor's degree preferred.
   5 years of professional experience
