Job description

Job Title: UiPath Business Analyst - Healthcare (Epic)
Location: Remote
Job Description (JD):
We are seeking a skilled and mission-driven UiPath Business Analyst with expertise in healthcare provider operations and Epic EHR systems to join the Intelligent Automation Center of Excellence (CoE). This role serves as a bridge between clinical/operational stakeholders and the automation delivery team, translating complex provider workflows into scalable, compliant RPA solutions.
The candidate will lead process discovery sessions, identify high-impact automation opportunities, and build business cases with quantified ROI. Responsibilities include documenting detailed requirements (PDDs, SDDs), creating AS-IS and TO-BE process maps, defining acceptance criteria and test scenarios, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA/HITECH and healthcare regulatory standards.
The role requires strong collaboration with clinical leadership, HIM, revenue cycle, IT, and compliance teams. The analyst will support testing, UAT coordination, go-live activities, and contribute to CoE standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
Must Have Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with Epic EHR workflows (clinical documentation, scheduling/registration, HIM, revenue cycle, pharmacy, or related modules)
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare provider operations (patient access, revenue cycle, clinical workflows)
  • Experience authoring PDDs, BRDs, use cases, AS-IS / TO-BE process maps
  • Familiarity with UiPath RPA concepts (Orchestrator, attended vs. unattended bots)
  • Experience conducting process discovery workshops
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, PHI handling requirements
  • Experience supporting UAT, test planning, and go-live validation

Key Responsibilities (Concise Version)
  • Process Discovery & Automation Assessment :Lead discovery sessions with clinical and revenue cycle teams to document Epic workflows and identify high-value automation opportunities. Build ROI-driven business cases and assess feasibility considering system dependencies and Epic upgrades.
  • Requirements & Documentation: Gather and document detailed business/functional requirements for UiPath automation. Create PDDs, BRDs, AS-IS/TO-BE process maps, define acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and maintain traceability across the lifecycle.
  • Epic & Healthcare Expertise: Translate provider workflows (registration, scheduling, clinical documentation, HIM, billing, discharge) into automation-ready specifications. Recommend Epic-native APIs/FHIR vs UiPath UI automation. Understand end-to-end revenue cycle operations.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure automation aligns with HIPAA, HITECH, PHI handling, audit logging, and role-based security controls. Assess regulatory risk prior to go-live.
  • Testing & Deployment Support: Design test plans, coordinate UAT, track defects, support go-live and hyper-care, and develop operational runbooks.
  • Stakeholder Leadership: Act as liaison between clinicians and developers. Present ROI to leadership, facilitate workshops, and provide clear risk/status communication.
  • CoE Contribution: Standardize documentation templates, validate ROI post-implementation, stay current on Epic & UiPath updates, and mentor junior BAs.

What the Hiring Manager is Looking For (Short & Clear)
They want a healthcare-domain Business Analyst with strong Epic experience and automation exposure - not a generic IT BA or pure RPA developer.
Ideal candidate:
  • Has hands-on Epic workflow experience.
  • Understands hospital and revenue cycle operations deeply.
  • Can independently identify automation opportunities and quantify ROI.
  • Communicates effectively with both clinicians and technical teams.
  • Understands compliance risks in healthcare environments.
  • Can operate strategically within a mature Automation CoE.
