Role Overview:
The Turf & Ornamental Sales Representative develops and maintains customer accounts while driving new business across Lawncare (LCO), Golf, and Nursery/Greenhouse (NGH) markets. This role partners with customers to recommend appropriate products based on agronomic needs and ensures successful product application, builds strong relationships, delivers value-added solutions, and achieves sales goals. This role represents the company as a trusted advisor and market leader within the region.
A Sample of What You'll Do in This Role:
  • Identify new key customers, understand their business needs, and develop actionable plans to grow the sales territory.
  • Maintain and grow profitable customer relationships while attracting new business opportunities.
  • Provide product recommendations and agronomic guidance tailored to specific customer needs.
  • Communicate initiatives, objectives, strategies, and action plans with branch management.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact managing territory support resources including nutrition, branded products, seed, purchasing, and technology.
  • Oversee execution and success of territory plans in coordination with branch personnel.
  • Develop and manage territory budgets, forecasts, and performance analysis.
  • Follow company credit policies and manage financial risk within the territory.
  • Build and execute annual business plans focused on growth and profitability.
  • Establish and achieve sales goals.
  • Network with industry representatives to expand sales opportunities and market presence.
  • Continuously build product and market knowledge to enhance credibility with customers.
  • Act as the primary liaison between customers and the company for deliveries, forecasting, credit, complaints, and service needs.
What You Bring to the Role:
  • 3-5 years of experience in the Greens industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of Lawncare (LCO), Golf, and Nursery/Greenhouse (NGH) markets
  • Ability to travel up to 25% and travel by vehicle or commercial transportation
  • Ability to obtain a UT State Department of Agriculture Commercial Pest Control Consultant License with suitable endorsements
  • Physically able to work in outdoor environments including hot and cold conditions
  • Willingness to embrace and leverage technology to enhance customer service offerings
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows applications and ERP order entry systems
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Agronomy, Agriculture, or a Business-related field is preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $75,000 - $90,000. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience.

  • This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k)
