General Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A plays a critical role within the organization, helping to manage both the US and Canada P&Ls. This role is responsible for leading the forecasting and financial planning for several operating expenses in addition to supporting the FP&A team with the financials. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and analytical problem solver with a strong attention to detail.
Reports to: Manager, Retail FP&A
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • P&L Management - Lead financial oversight of retail cost centers, including budgeting, tracking, variance analysis, and reporting. Ensure alignment with broader financial goals and identify opportunities for cost optimization. Support managers with P&L management of both US and Canada retail.
  • Ongoing Business Insights - Deliver daily and weekly performance reporting to support business recaps. Analyze trends, identify risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations to drive business performance.
  • Quarterly Earnings Reporting - Prepare and update financial materials to support internal and external quarterly earnings processes. Ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting.
  • Annual Budgeting Process - Own the annual budgeting process for Retail home office expenses. Collaborate with business partners to align assumptions and deliver a comprehensive financial plan.
  • Cross-Functional Partnerships - Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis - Perform any needed ad-hoc analysis around financials using history and trends to assess implications for future weeks, months and quarters that will be used to drive actions within the retail segment to drive topline and bottom targets

Required Skills:
  • Strong background in forecasting, financial modeling, and data analysis within the retail industry
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated leadership and the ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on operational efficiency

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, preferably in a retail environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including model building and complex formulas
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., MSI) is a plus
  • Familiarity with financial systems such as Lawson, EPM, or similar platforms is preferred
