Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our Environmental team. The ideal candidate can be based anywhere in the U.S. and will travel to jobsites to support project management and engineering tasks, assisting in the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with limited experience to kick-start their careers in engineering and project management.
Project Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Support the coordination of project activities, including resource allocation and logistics.
  • Participate in site visits to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Help review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.
  • Collaborate with the project team to identify and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Prepare reports and documentation related to project status, risks, and outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Ability to travel to jobsites up to 80-100% of the time based on project type and requirement
  • Other job-related duties necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position

Project Engineer Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-3 years of experience in heavy civil construction required; marine construction experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, on computers and other electronic devices
  • Strong interpersonal skills; must be a self-starter, highly organized, and creative
  • Superior time management and organizational capabilities, including the ability to accurately benchmark project length, deliver on deadlines
