Position Overview

Holistic Mental and Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our esteemed team in Atlanta, Georgia. This full-time remote position in an outpatient office setting requires a skilled professional to provide focused mental health care, with a particular emphasis on assisting individuals impacted by trauma. In this role, you will not only utilize your expertise to enhance patient outcomes but also have the rewarding opportunity to directly influence the lives of those navigating the complexities of trauma recovery.

About the Organization

At Holistic Mental and Counseling Services, we pride ourselves on our commitment to delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care to our clients. Our center operates under a model that emphasizes safety, collaboration, and holistic healing. We specialize in treating a range of trauma-related issues, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our compassionate environment is designed to support trauma survivors on their journey toward recovery, and we are dedicated to fostering an atmosphere of empathy, respect, and understanding.

Work Environment

This role primarily functions in a remote outpatient office setting, allowing flexibility in your work environment. The ideal candidate will maintain regular office hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, while having the ability to adapt their schedule to meet the unique needs of our clients. Our digital infrastructure supports remote therapy sessions, enabling you to deliver care efficiently while prioritizing client convenience and accessibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to understand patients' histories and identify the most effective treatment strategies.
  • Design and implement custom treatment plans aimed at fostering resilience and facilitating trauma recovery.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, utilizing methodologies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, assisting patients in processing their trauma, developing essential coping mechanisms, and promoting overall healing.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals, to ensure all aspects of patient care are integrated and comprehensive.
  • Offer immediate crisis intervention in trauma-related situations, ensuring patients receive prompt and effective support.
  • Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping strategies, and available community resources.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in strict compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in case consultation meetings and professional development activities to enhance your skills in trauma-informed care and stay updated with best practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary population you'll serve includes adults and adolescents affected by various forms of trauma, including those grappling with PTSD, emotional distress, and associated mental health challenges. The therapist's core responsibilities center around creating tailored therapeutic experiences that foster healing and support emotional wellbeing, helping patients reframe their narratives and manage their journeys through trauma.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Georgia.
  • A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies.
  • Demonstrated competency in delivering trauma-focused therapies and providing support in high-stress environments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients empathetically and non-judgmentally.
  • Ability to remain composed and effective during crises.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer applications relevant to clinical documentation.
  • Strong collaboration skills to integrate seamlessly into a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience is required, candidates with extensive experience in trauma therapy or those who have worked in outpatient settings treating trauma-related conditions may be given preference. Familiarity with recent research and advancements in trauma therapy will further enhance your success in this role.
