Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Remote Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our dedicated Mental Health Team, focused on supporting students within our Special Education Program located in Rome, Georgia. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide therapeutic services to a diverse group of students facing various challenges, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, and trauma-related issues. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments for students, taking into account their unique needs and backgrounds.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that prioritize emotional well-being and foster successful integration into educational settings.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to students exhibiting ASD, learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, and trauma histories.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions designed to promote emotional regulation, social skills, and effective coping mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with educators, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to provide holistic and comprehensive mental health care.
  • Offer crisis intervention and immediate support during mental health emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
  • Provide psychoeducation to students and families about mental health conditions and available resources, empowering them to understand their situations better.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in team meetings, case conferences, and staff development initiatives to promote professional growth and enhance service delivery.
  • Stay abreast of developments in mental health regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and excellence in care provision.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The role focuses primarily on students with special needs, including those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), learning disabilities, ADHD, emotional and behavioral disorders, and experiences of trauma. You will play a critical role in addressing both their mental health and educational needs, enabling them to succeed academically and socially within a school setting.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid LCSW licensure in the state of Georgia.
  • Strong foundation in understanding mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and trauma-informed care practices.
  • Proficiency in conducting mental health assessments, as well as diagnosing conditions and formulating effective treatment plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively manage caseloads and maintain accurate documentation.
Preferred Experience
  • At least two years of post-licensure experience in a mental health or educational setting is preferred.
  • Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy sessions using diverse therapeutic techniques.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and strong computer proficiency.
  • Prior experience working with children and adolescents in special education or related fields.
