Position Overview

Medina Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Therapist specializing in trauma-informed care. As part of our dynamic team, you will provide essential mental health services to individuals who have experienced trauma, such as PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. This full-time remote position allows you to work flexibly while contributing to meaningful patient outcomes and significantly improving the lives of those you serve.

About the Organization

Medina Behavioral Health Center is committed to fostering a nurturing and secure atmosphere for trauma survivors. Our outpatient services focus on evidence-based practices and innovative therapies, ensuring that we address the unique challenges faced by each patient. By integrating multidisciplinary approaches and collaborating with mental health professionals, we create an effective support system that prioritizes trauma recovery.

Work Environment

In this fully remote position, you will leverage telehealth technologies to connect with clients across Yonkers, New York, and potentially beyond. Our telehealth facility is equipped with state-of-the-art video conferencing tools to facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, allowing flexibility and accessibility to patients. You will enjoy the autonomy of a home office while maintaining strong connections with colleagues through regular virtual meetings and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patientsโ€™ trauma histories and craft personalized treatment plans.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to guide clients in their healing process.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, fostering an environment for personal expression and emotional growth.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other health professionals to ensure a cohesive and integrated care approach tailored to each client's needs.
  • Respond effectively to crisis situations, providing immediate support and intervention during trauma-related emergencies.
  • Educate clients and their families regarding trauma responses, coping strategies, and available mental health resources.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines using our electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Actively engage in case consultations and team meetings to share insights and develop best practices in trauma-informed care.
  • Continuously update knowledge of the latest research and developments in trauma therapy and mental health interventions.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on supporting individuals affected by various forms of trauma, particularly those experiencing PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your work will empower patients to process their trauma, develop effective coping mechanisms, and ultimately foster resilience. By offering compassionate care, you will play a pivotal role in their recovery journey and contribute to a larger mission of transforming lives.

Qualifications
  • Education: A masterโ€™s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
  • Skills: A strong working knowledge of trauma-related disorders, treatment modalities, and effective resilience-building approaches.
  • Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to client interactions.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and digital communication tools.
Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, candidates with robust training in trauma-focused therapies and evidence of ongoing professional development will stand out. Experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to providing inclusive mental health care are highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • Employer-matched retirement savings plan
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) along with holiday pay
  • Professional liability insurance
  • Continuing education support and opportunities for accredited training
  • A collaborative work culture that values teamwork and professional growth
