Ameresco has a new opportunity for an experienced Site Safety Manager based in the Columbus, Ohio, metropolitan area. This position will be responsible for planning, preparing, organizing, implementing, and executing all safety administrative and performance requirements for an assigned project in accordance with contract specifications, OSHA, Ameresco internal Safety Management System, and Accident Prevention Plan (APP), while fully integrating with the project team to support the safe production of quality work.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation of site-specific safety plans and activity hazard analysis for assigned projects.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and adopted standards.

  • Ensure personal protective equipment meets applicable OSHA requirements and employees are trained in proper use.

  • Conduct safety audits of assigned project site(s) ensuring work is being accomplished safely, and occupational health is not compromised.

  • Ensure incidents are reported, investigated, under-go comprehensive root-cause analysis, and corrective actions implemented to minimize the likelihood of repeat occurrence.

  • Review subcontractor safety qualifications and attend pre-construction meetings as required.

  • Work with project supervision and management to create safety solutions to safety problems.

  • Foster and maintain a positive safety culture for the project personnel.

  • Maintain all safety certifications as required by contracts.

  • Conduct monthly safety meetings for project staff.

  • Ability to travel as needed to support construction safety operations.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction safety.


Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be organized, proactive and have proven experience in OSHA Compliance.

  • CHST or CSP certifications preferred.

  • Current OSHA 10 or 30 Construction Safety Certification.

  • Current First Aid & CPR Certification.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Procore, and other basic computer skills.

  • Skillful communicator in both verbal and written communication.

  • A great listener who can communicate professionally and in an open and positive approach.
