What's the Role and What You'll Do
A newly created position!! The Chief Transportation Officer (CTO) will lead a team of 10 staff and manage a $5.6 million budget, covering transportation planning, traffic engineering, shuttle operations, traffic safety programs, signal operations, grant funding, and major mobility initiatives. Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, Mountain View is a diverse community spanning just over 12 square miles and home to 83,601 residents. This forward-thinking, full-service city prides itself on its excellent organizational culture, good governance, and embraces a continuous improvement mindset.
The Essentials
Mountain View seeks a strategic transportation professional with deep technical expertise and a progressive approach to transportation management. The ideal candidate will bring broad experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, policy development, and project delivery, along with the leadership skills to guide a newly formed division. Five (5) years of increasingly responsible transportation management, planning, traffic engineering, or related functions, and a Bachelor's degree are required.
