Project Manager, Research Translation Acceleration

Lehigh University is building something that bridges the gap between discovery and real-world impact and this role sits at the center of it. As Project Manager for Research Translation Acceleration, you'll drive the operations of a nationally recognized NSF-funded ART grant, helping Lehigh shape how research moves from the lab into the hands of people who need it most.
Position Number: S97280
This position is a Grade: 11 - 40 with an approximate salary range of $83,910 - $102,080 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the PI and leadership team to plan, execute, and continuously enhance the Lehigh-based Research Translation Acceleration Ecosystem.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive project plan to ensure all ecosystem initiatives and milestones are progressing optimally.
  • Oversee and manage selected research translation staff members to ensure efficient, cohesive, and effective execution of all program activities.
  • Support the selection, implementation, and evaluation of seed translation research projects, while maintaining a tracking system to measure participant engagement and long-term research impact.
  • Manage the design, scheduling, recruitment, and evaluation of professional development activities and training modules for graduate students, postdocs, and faculty, integrating DEIA principles throughout.
  • Plan and oversee annual summer research translation bootcamps while implementing targeted recruitment strategies to grow the ecosystem's participant network.
  • Develop, track, and manage project budgets and resources to ensure strict compliance with project goals, institutional guidelines, and funding agency commitments.
  • Reconcile research accounts monthly, manage budget indexes within Lehigh's Banner system, and oversee monthly corporate credit card expenses.
  • Assist the PI in compiling, preparing, and submitting presentations, as well as interim and final research grant reports in coordination with Research Accounting.
  • Ensure total program compliance with federal government regulations, university policies, and relevant research protocols (including IRB and IACUC requirements).
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communication plan for internal and external audiences, including overseeing the development and regular content updates of the project website.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for internal departments, external mentors, and peer NSF ART-funded institutions, while managing the logistics for seminars, workshops, and major conferences.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five to eight years of related work experience in an operational or administrative role working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Familiarity with federally funded research programs, grant reporting, or university research administration
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining close alignment with senior leadership and faculty investigators
  • Experience with programme evaluation, data collection, or assessment frameworks
  • Comfort navigating the collaborative, relationship-driven environment characteristic of Lehigh's Academic Affairs structure
