Senior Database Developer

Astor & Sanders Corporation (Astor) is an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in McLean, VA seeking a Senior Database Developer . This is a full-time and remote position.

Astor is looking for an experienced Oracle Database Developer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have progressive experience designing, supporting and maintaining Oracle databases in multi-tiered environments.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage database migration and database management by conducting data calls to include the coordination, analysis and gathering efforts from existing data sources. 
  • Develop reports and aggregate application systems attributes such as OS, hardware information, programming languages, technology and license versions, account management and release schedules. 
  • Design, architect, and plan database solutions to meet the business need. Applies comprehensive business processes and functional knowledge in problem resolution. Proposes and defines solutions and standards  
  • Implements PL/SL Programming especially in areas of Views, cursors, Stored Procedures, Normalization, Multiple table queries, Materialized Views, SQL Tuning etc
  • Develop and modify triggers, packages, functions and stored procedures for data conversions and PL/SQL procedures to create database objects dynamically based on user inputs
  • Prior experience of working with databases in high transaction environments 
  • Develop and implement standards, procedures, and policies regarding software and applications databases  
  • Installing & upgrading database software and resolving database software problems 
  • Automating database tasks, Health Checkups through the use of tools or via Scripting 
  • Expertise in database performance tuning and application query tuning 
  • Test the system after the migration process as well as the resulting data to find errors
  • Performance testing and rewriting of production Code/SQL statements & procedures performing badly, identified by database administrators
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other related discipline 
  • 7+ years of experience in database development and support in Oracle environments 
  • 7+ years of experience using Oracle  
  • Experience using Oracle 19.c and cloud database architectures and environments. 
  • Experience with the Data Warehousing technologies  
  • Strong understanding of Master Data Management policies including cleansing, normalization and standardization. 
  • Demonstrated experience with Configuration Management tools 

The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000-$140,000 annually. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, candidate skills and education, geographical location, certifications, and business needs, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range. This salary range represents Astor's good-faith estimate of compensation for the position at the time of posting.
