Director of Business Development and Partnerships Location: US Remote (New York, NY, Charleston, SC, Dallas, TX preferred) Compensation: Competitive salary + health, dental, vision + flexible PTO About Collectors Card Collectors Card is building the first rewards credit card designed specifically for collectors across sports cards, TCG, comics, memorabilia, and more. We're a team of fintech operators and collectibles industry veterans building a platform that connects payments, rewards, and the collector ecosystem in a way that has never existed before. This is a chance to join as one of the earliest team members shaping the future of our business.

The Role We are hiring our first Director of Business Development to build and expand the Collectors Card rewards ecosystem. This is a foundational role responsible for sourcing, onboarding, and growing relationships with rewards partners across the collectibles industry. We are looking for someone who: Understands the collectibles ecosystem Has strong existing relationships within the hobby Can operate as both a strategic leader and a hands-on operator Thrives in a fast-moving startup environment Able to create budgeting and hiring plan for sales team Initially, you will: Personally lead outreach to prospective rewards partners Onboard new partners onto the Collectors Card platform Guide partners through launching their first rewards Ensure early partners are successful and engaged As the platform grows, you will: Build and lead a business development team Expand the rewards marketplace across national and local partners Develop scalable processes for partner acquisition and onboarding Expand to create a B2B / enterprise sales function You will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and work closely with Product, Marketing, and Customer Support.

What You'll Do Build the Collectors Card Rewards Marketplace Identify, recruit, and onboard new rewards partners across a wide range of collectible verticals including: Sports cards Trading card games Comics Video games Watches Fashion Experiences Your goal is to build a rewards marketplace that collectors are excited to engage with and that partners see as a valuable channel for reaching passionate customers. Leverage Industry Relationships We are looking for someone who already has relationships within the hobby and understands how the ecosystem operates and can generate revenue for Collectors Card, our customers and our partners. Build partnerships with Card shops Marketplaces Auction houses Manufacturers Retailers Breakers Influencers Industry events and trade shows This role is ideal for someone who already knows many of the key players and can open doors across the industry.

Own Partner Success After onboarding a partner, you will ensure they are successful on the platform. Guide partners through using the rewards platform Ensure rewards perform well within the ecosystem Help partners upload and manage rewards Recommend new offer structures and reward formats Share performance insights with partners Troubleshoot issues and ensure a strong partner experience Success in this role is measured not just by signing partners, but by helping them succeed and continue growing with the platform. Use Data to Strengthen Partnerships You will regularly review reward analytics and share insights with partners.

This includes: Tracking reward redemptions and engagement Reporting partner performance Identifying high-performing reward types Advising partners on optimizing offers Helping partners improve engagement and results Partners should clearly see the value of participating in the Collectors Card ecosystem. Represent Collectors Card in the Industry You will represent Collectors Card across the collectibles ecosystem. Attending major industry trade shows and conferences Building relationships with industry leaders and partners Increasing awareness of the Collectors Card platform Strengthening our presence within the collectibles community Generating revenue for Collectors Card Build the Next Phase of Business Development As the rewards marketplace grows, you will help build and manage a business development team focused on expanding the partner network.

This will include developing a junior sales team responsible for onboarding: Local card shops Local collectibles businesses Regional events and conventions Experiences and services for collectors Generating revenue Who You Are Required 10+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales. Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to develop and close strategic partnerships. 4-year degree from a reputable university.

Experience working with brands or businesses in a professional environment. Success in scaling business development and revenue teams. Ability to demonstrate direct P&L oversight and outcomes with enterprise organizations Highly organized with strong follow-through, communication, and operational discipline.

Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities evolve quickly. Strongly Preferred Existing relationships within the collectibles industry. Experience working with marketplaces, retailers, or hobby businesses.

Experience attending or selling at industry trade shows. Experience working with partnership analytics or merchant performance data. Experience working with enterprise-level clients Experience managing or scaling a partnerships or sales team.

Bonus Points Deep connections within the sports card or TCG ecosystem. Experience building a partner marketplace from the ground up. Physically located near another Collectors Card office / employee.

Understands asset-backed lending and / or collateralization. What Success Looks Like Within 6โ€“12 months you will have: Built a strong network of rewards partners across multiple collectible verticals Launched a wide variety of compelling rewards within the platform Established a repeatable onboarding and partner success process Demonstrated measurable engagement and redemption activity Helped position Collectors Card as a key platform within the collectibles ecosystem Successfully launched and sustained the revenue generation function Competitive base salary and bonus opportunities Health, dental, and vision coverage Flexible PTO Eligible for equity issuances for year-end bonuses and promotions Opportunity to help build a foundational marketplace at a fintech startup Why This Role Matters The rewards ecosystem is a core part of the Collectors Card experience. The Director of Business Development will play a critical role in expanding the Collectors Card ecosystem and helping bring the collectibles industry into the future of rewards.
