Description
Our Story
Imagine being part of a team that's not just shaping the future but actively driving it. At Davies North America, we're at the forefront of innovation and excellence, blending cutting-edge technology with top-tier professional services. As a vital part of the global Davies Group, we help businesses navigate risk, optimize operations, and spearhead transformation in the insurance and regulated sectors.
What's in Store
We are seeking a seasoned Vice President of Business Development with deep experience in Property & Casualty and Workers' Compensation TPA services who can originate business and create opportunity from a blank slate. You will be responsible for building and managing a robust sales pipeline with discipline and transparency. This role is for a seasoned business development leader who already has established relationships with brokerages, programs, and self-insureds, with deep market knowledge, and credibility. You must be comfortable selling complex solutions to sophisticated buyers and closing complex deals with self-insureds and broker partners.
In this role you will build and convert your own pipeline, deliver measurable results aligned with growth target, represent Davies at the highest level, and expand our footprint through new client acquisition.
** Candidates must be located in California, the Midwest or the Southeastern part of the U.S. **
Key Responsibilities
New Business Origination
  • Proactively source, develop, and close net-new business across Property & Casualty and Workers' Compensation, with an emphasis on TPA services and adjacent capabilities.
  • Target and engage brokers, self-insured employers, captives, program administrators, carriers, and risk managers.
  • Leverage existing industry relationships and continuously build new ones to generate opportunities.
  • Enter the role with the ability to identify and articulate specific target organizations you can pursue.

Market-Facing Leadership
  • Serve as a senior, outward-facing representative of Davies, confidently engaging C-suite executives and senior decision-makers.
  • Clearly communicate complex service offerings, financial models, and operational value propositions to sophisticated buyers.
  • Represent Davies at industry conferences, broker events, and client meetings as a trusted expert and credible partner.

Strategic Selling & Collaboration
  • Partner with operations and service-line leaders to design tailored, multi-service solutions.
  • Drive consultative sales conversations that go beyond price, positioning Davies as a long-term strategic partner.
  • Contribute to go-to-market strategy, target account planning, and pricing models based on real market feedback.

Skills, knowledge & expertise
  • Proven success in business development, sales, or account management within TPA insurance
  • An existing professional network of brokerage firms, self-insured employers, carriers, or programs you can actively pursue
  • Executive presence with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with sophisticated buyers
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of self-insurance, risk financing, and claims administration models
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on growth, innovation, and building new opportunities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams, managing competing priorities, and driving results
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, industry events, and internal collaboration
  • Energized by creating opportunities, not maintaining the status quo; motivated to shape the next chapter of Davies' growth
