Job Summary

WellBe Senior Medical is seeking an ambitious, operationally excellent leader to serve as our Director of Total Rewards. Reporting directly to the VP of Total Rewards, this role will act as the operational leadership engine of our Center of Excellence (COE) own daily operations and oversight of our compensation, benefits, and payroll infrastructure while leading theteam, optimizing systems, and safeguarding compliance. The Director, Total Rewards will ensure that all total rewards programs are competitive, equitable, cost-effective, and aligned with the company's strategic goals, culture, and values. This role partners with senior leadership, HR, Finance, and business leaders to attract, retain, and engage top talent while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Description

Salary: $140,000-$170,000

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCore Responsibilities1. Operational Leadership & COE Excellence Serve as the primary operational leader for the Total Rewards department, managing day-to-day workflows and building organizational redundancy. Mentor and develop a lean, agile team. Act as the core project manager for system optimizations, particularly driving maximum efficiency and automation within our Dayforce HCM platform.2. Payroll Infrastructure & Vendor Governance (RFP Dependent) Directly oversee internal payroll processing, ensuring the function maintains pristine execution and absolute multi-FEIN compliance across all tax jurisdictions. Serve as the chief liaison and governance officer for vendor/service provider relations and enforce strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs), manage vendor performance, and run independent data quality audits. Establish bulletproof pre-payroll QA controls and electronic data reconciliations to eliminate financial slippage.3. Benefits, Wellness, & Fiduciary Compliance Direct the administration of health, welfare, retirement (401k), and leave/FMLA programs, ensuring strict ERISA, ACA, and HIPAA compliance. Manage relationships with brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators to monitor utilization trends, contain costs, and optimize renewals. Implement engaging total rewards communication strategies that help employees understand and maximize the value of their health and wellness benefits.4. Compensation Administration & Execution Execute the company's broader compensation philosophy, job evaluations, pay structures, and job architecture. Oversee routine market benchmarking, salary planning, and annual merit review and incentive cycles. Partner with Talent Acquisition to provide data-driven structures for complex, highvolume geographic offers while protecting internal pay equity

Job Requirements

Required QualificationsEducational and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CCP, CEBS, CPP) are a strong plus but not required for an elite executor. 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 4-5 years dedicated specifically to core Comp/Benefits and Payroll administration. Strong technical proficiency with enterprise-level HCM platforms is required; explicit experience with Dayforce configuration and reporting is highly advantageous. Foundational understanding of multi-FEIN payroll compliance, payroll tax registration frameworks, and self-funded or fully insured health benefit design. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing total rewards strategies in midsize organizations. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and vendor management skills. Excellent communication and influencing abilities, with a proven track record of partnering with executive leadership.
