• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for senior clients to identify their specific counseling and support needs, employing standardized evaluation tools and clinical interviews.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions catered to seniors, focusing on emotional resilience related to aging, such as loss of independence or grief.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams—including physicians, nurses, and social workers—to develop and implement comprehensive, personalized care plans that address the varied emotional and psychological needs of our clients.
• Educate family members and caregivers on techniques to promote the emotional well-being and quality of life for older adults, providing them with resources and support methods.
• Offer specialized grief counseling to individuals and families navigating end-of-life issues, helping them through their emotional journey.
• Implement cognitive stimulation interventions aimed at enhancing mental sharpness and engagement in activities for older adults.

The primary focus of this role is on senior clients within our Geriatric Care Clinic, who often face a complex array of emotional and psychological challenges associated with aging. Our goal is to create a supportive atmosphere where older adults can express their concerns and work through issues pertinent to the later stages of life, such as loss, loneliness, and transitions in their social environments.

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• A minimum of 4 years of recent experience providing counseling and support specifically for geriatric populations.
• Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based interventions tailored to enhance mental well-being among seniors.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to empathize and connect effectively with elderly clients.
• Familiarity with ethical and legal standards in geriatric mental health counseling.
