What is remote telehealth?

Remote telehealth refers to the delivery of healthcare services and clinical information using telecommunications technology. This allows patients to consult with healthcare professionals and receive medical advice, diagnoses, and treatment plans without needing to visit a physical clinic or hospital. Telehealth can include video calls, phone consultations, remote monitoring, and sharing of medical records. It is especially helpful for individuals in rural or underserved areas, and it increases access to care while reducing travel time and costs.

What Are Remote Jobs in Telehealth?

Remote telehealth jobs involve providing healthcare or health education and information over the telephone or internet. While similar to telemedicine, virtual telehealth positions commonly focus on non-clinical responsibilities, such as administrative tasks, provider training, and health education or outreach. As a telehealth physician or nurse, you may also work from a remote location to assess the needs and condition of a patient, offer treatment advice, monitor treatment progress, or coordinate patient services. Social workers and therapists can also work in this field, providing mental health services online or over the phone.
