Description
The (MMSD) is a regional governmental agency that serves 1.1 million people in the greater Milwaukee area. MMSD provides water reclamation, flood management, and green infrastructure services for our community. Our mission is to protect public health and the environment through world-class, cost-effective water resource management, leadership, and partnership. MMSD is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Asset Management Analyst in the Technical Services Division. Reporting to the Asset Management Program Manager, you will maintain asset information within both the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and the geographic information system (GIS). You will assist with reviewing inspection and condition assessment data to support asset performance monitoring and risk analysis. You also will support project teams by maintaining accurate asset information throughout the asset lifecycle and assist with asset data reviews, planning-level analyses, and the development of asset management plans (AMPs) and risk strategies to support maintenance, rehabilitation, and replacement decisions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the Information Technology Services (ITS) Department and its consultants to support database functionality, system enhancements, and report development.
  • Review asset inspection and condition assessment data to support asset condition scoring, probability of failure, performance tracking, and basic risk analyses.
  • Support project managers, designers, and contractors by identifying project assets and assisting with updating asset information throughout planning, design, construction, and asset turnover.
  • Assist with periodic reviews of asset data to identify assets requiring maintenance, rehabilitation, or replacement, and support the preparation of planning analyses and related documentation.
  • Aid in the development and maintenance of AMPs, risk registers, and asset renewal strategies by collecting, organizing, and documenting asset information.
  • Maintain asset information by performing data entry, validation, clean up, and updates within asset management systems and related databases.
  • Respond to routine requests for asset information, reports, and basic data analysis from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in implementation, testing, maintenance, and ongoing use of asset management systems and related applications.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, asset management, or a related field.
  • Two years of job-related experience (advanced education degrees will be considered in lieu of experience).
  • Working knowledge of CMMS.
  • Ability to use data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Possess basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize work, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple tasks within a collaborative team environment.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Computer software proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office applications
  • Exposure to data analysis software, GIS, and project management software.
  • Valid driver's license required and a good driving record at time of application, during the selection process, and throughout employment.

Physical Requirements:
  • This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force.
  • Work regularly requires sitting and using hands. Work occasionally requires standing, walking, crouching/stooping, and repetitive movements.
Sensory Requirements:
  • Work has standard vision requirements. Vocal communication is required for expressing ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.

Environmental Exposures:

SUMMARY OF MMSD EMPLOYEE BENEFITS
MMSD provides a competitive benefits package for employees, based on Commission Policy, that include the following:
  • Annual vacation: Earn three to five weeks of vacation based on years of service
  • Personal Days: Earn four personal days annually.
  • Sick Leave: Earn 10 days annually.
