About the team

The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a critical role in driving business growth and expanding our market presences through initiating and building strategic relationships, qualifying prospects, and developing qualified business opportunities which contribute significantly to the overall sales pipeline. Working closely with both marketing and sales teams, this position engages in marketing activities and campaigns to build relationships, is responsible for initial contact with prospective clients and generates and qualifies sales opportunities.

The Business Development Representative works closely with Account Executives to create and prioritize their business target market, position our value proposition, and generate attention and interest for our products and services. They are accountable for generating qualified leads and transitioning these leads to our Account Executive team.

What you will do
  • Develop an effective pipeline of sales opportunities through the qualification of leads generated from marketing campaigns and outbound prospecting, ensuring they meet pre-determined customer criteria
  • Prospect and engage with prospective customers through targeted outreach using multiple channels including phone, email, social media, and networking events
  • Foster and maintain excellent working relationships with the greater sales function and marketing teams ensuring alignment, coordinating strategies, and sharing insights on how and when to target priority accounts to optimize lead generation and progression through the sales pipeline
  • Manage and coordinate leads through the qualification process through discovery of opportunity, and work closely with Account Executives to confirm qualification criteria
  • Engage with prospects, and lead the first sales meeting, to understand their pain points, challenges, and goals and position our products and solutions as solutions that can address their needs effectively
  • Provide ongoing market feedback and suggestions to refine positioning and improve outbound strategies.
  • Manage and maintain a healthy pipeline by accurately tracking all interactions, follow-ups, and progress with leads in relevant databases.
  • Source new contacts using external data sources such as ZoomInfo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Participate in local trade shows, and training, staying informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and strategies for business development
  • Understand Kinaxis' differentiated value proposition to effectively educate and generate demand from qualified prospects.
What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 years of proven business to business work experience as a qualified business/market/sales development representative
  • Knowledge of marketing, sales, and business processes, and protocols preferably in a similar industry
  • Demonstrate professional interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Effective negotiator negotiation, and persuasion skills
  • Exceptional collaboration and negotiation skills with ability to influence, persuade, and gain support externally and with key internal stakeholders
  • Effective time management and organizational skills with a proactive, goal-oriented mindset
  • Advanced computer skills, especially Microsoft Office, Excel, Salesforce, and Eloqua considered an asset
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, track and projects and meet urgent deadlines.
  • Valid passport is required, ability to travel as required (up to 20%).
  • Work is performed remotely and supports our global teams in North America, Europe and Asia.
