What is a remote technical records professional?

Remote Technical Records typically refer to the management and maintenance of technical documentation and records for equipment, machinery, or aircraft, performed remotely rather than onsite. This role involves ensuring that all records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with relevant regulations or standards. Professionals in this field may use specialized software to track maintenance, repairs, and inspections, and often collaborate with engineers, technicians, or regulatory bodies. The position is crucial for organizations that need to maintain detailed records for safety, compliance, and operational efficiency, especially in industries like aviation.

Remote Technical Records professionals play a crucial role in collaborating with maintenance teams by regularly communicating through digital platforms, such as email, video calls, and specialized maintenance tracking systems. They are responsible for collecting, verifying, and updating technical documentation from various sources, ensuring all records meet regulatory and company standards. Close coordination with engineering and maintenance staff is essential, as discrepancies or missing information must be promptly addressed to maintain compliance and operational efficiency. • Experience in on-site deployments, system integrations, hardware/software configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Confident public speaker capable of representing QCi at industry events and customer briefings.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and the ability to break down complex concepts for any audience.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills in fast-moving environments.
  • Experience with collaboration/support tools such as Jira, Confluence, Salesforce, and ticketing systems.
  • Willingness to travel 30-50%, including multi-day onsite customer engagements (3-5 days).
