Senior Project Manager

Austin, Texas | Full-Time | Environmental Consulting

We're looking for an experienced Senior Environmental Project Manager who wants more than another consulting job. This is an opportunity to lead high-impact environmental projects, mentor talented professionals, strengthen client partnerships, and play a key role in the continued growth of our Texas operations. Location: Austin, Texas (Candidates should reside in or near the Austin metropolitan area)

Position Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $95,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications, plus performance-based bonus opportunities.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and manage complex environmental consulting projects from planning through completion.
  • Develop project scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, forecasts, and resource plans.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal technical teams, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Direct multidisciplinary project teams by assigning responsibilities, monitoring progress, resolving issues, and maintaining accountability for project deliverables.
  • Prepare, review, and oversee technical reports, regulatory submittals, work plans, proposals, and project documentation.
  • Ensure all project activities and deliverables align with Texas regulations and industry standards.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and regulatory agencies, providing project updates and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to oversee field operations, verify quality, monitor safety, and support project teams.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance to project personnel and subcontractors.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies on every project.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in environmental consulting, environmental project management, site assessment, remediation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Minimum of 4 years of direct field experience managing and supervising multidisciplinary teams performing environmental site investigations, remediation projects, and hazardous and non-hazardous material cleanup activities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Texas environmental regulations, including programs administered by the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, forecasting, scope changes, and contract administration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing technical reports and presenting project information to clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel periodically to project sites throughout Texas.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. Employment sponsorship is not available.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certifications (PE, PG, PMP, CHMM) strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing environmental projects under Texas state agency contracts, including TxDOT, RRC, TCEQ, or other governmental agencies.
  • Experience managing pipeline abandonment and removal projects.
  • Experience designing, installing, operating, or troubleshooting groundwater remediation systems.
  • Experience preparing and implementing SWPPPs, NPDES/TPDES permitting, construction stormwater compliance inspections, and BMP implementation.
  • Current OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification with annual refresher training.
