About the Role

Zlayt AI is looking for a Technical Project Manager to drive the planning, coordination, and delivery of key product and engineering initiatives. You'll act as the connective tissue between engineering, product, and business stakeholders, ensuring projects move from concept to execution on time, on budget, and with the technical rigor our platform demands. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and wants to help shape how AI-driven legal technology gets built.


Responsibilities


Project Planning & Execution

  • Own end-to-end planning and delivery of technical projects, from scoping and timeline development through launch and post-launch review
  • Break down complex initiatives into clear milestones, deliverables, and actionable tasks
  • Track progress against project plans and adjust as priorities shift


Team Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional project teams, keeping engineering, product, and design aligned and accountable
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture suited to a fast-moving startup
  • Mentor team members and help remove blockers to keep work moving


Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project status, timelines, and risks across internal teams and leadership
  • Translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and business priorities for technical teams
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise project updates and reporting


Risk & Problem Management

  • Proactively identify project risks, dependencies, and roadblocks
  • Develop mitigation plans and drive timely resolution of issues
  • Apply sound judgment and adaptability when priorities or requirements change


Budget & Resource Management

  • Manage project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
  • Forecast resource needs and coordinate staffing across concurrent projects
  • Monitor spend against budget and flag variances early


Skills & Experience

  • Strong technical knowledge with the ability to engage credibly with engineering teams on architecture, timelines, and trade-offs
  • Proven project management experience, ideally managing technical or product-driven projects
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of an organization
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in an ambiguous, fast-changing environment
  • Experience working in a SaaS environment or with SaaS products
  • Go-to-market (GTM) experience, including cross-functional coordination around product launches
  • Prior startup experience, with comfort operating with limited resources and evolving priorities


Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related discipline); or equivalent practical experience considered
  • Project Management and other relevant certifications are a plus
