Position Title: Remote Technical Sales Manager
About the Role: The Remote Technical Sales Manager plays a crucial role in driving sales and fostering relationships within the machinery and automation sectors. This position requires a proactive individual who can navigate complex sales cycles and engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical expertise and sales experience to manage the complete sales process, from initial prospecting to closing deals. With a focus on capital equipment sales, the role demands a self-motivated professional who can thrive in a remote work environment while traveling extensively across North America. This position offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the company's growth and success in a laid-back company culture that values independence and flexibility.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 / Year DOE
Remote Technical Sales Manager Responsibilities:
  • Manage direct capital equipment sales, project management, and market development
  • Oversee the complete sales cycle, including prospecting, customer visits, technical discussions, and negotiations
  • Maintain and expand relationships with key decision-makers across various organizational levels
  • Prepare accurate quotations, sales forecasts, and CRM documentation
  • Support machine installations and customer follow-up activities to ensure satisfaction
  • Collaborate with the service department to address aftermarket opportunities
  • Monitor market trends and competitive activities within the industry
  • Assist customers with ROI evaluations and production optimization initiatives
  • Provide leadership during complex technical sales projects requiring cross-department coordination
  • Achieve sales targets of $3 to $5 million in the first year with the provided leads

Remote Technical Sales Manager Requirements:
  • BA degree in Engineering
  • Ability to work remotely
  • Willingness to travel extensively, approximately 50-70% of the time, including initial international onboarding
  • 3-5 years of experience selling machines such as plastic, machine tools, or CNC
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing operations, tooling concepts, automation systems, and industrial production environments
  • Self-motivated, independent, and highly organized
  • Valid driver's license and passport required
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of customer organizations
  • Patience for long sales cycles, which can take at least a year
  • Experience with capital equipment sales and technical knowledge in machinery and automation is preferred
  • A background in engineering or manufacturing is preferred
