Company Description

Job Description
Primary Purpose of the Position (Essentially looking for a Databricks SME who has been there and done that)
US Citizen
6 months CTP
Salary $150K plus stock options and benefits
The Data Program Manager serves as a strategic execution partner to the Data & Analytics leadership team, acting as a central integrator across data strategy, delivery roadmaps, and operational governance. This role is responsible for ensuring that the enterprise data strategy is translated into cohesive, executable programs, that delivery teams remain aligned to agreed priorities, and that risks, dependencies, and overlaps are proactively identified and addressed.
The role requires a seasoned professional with deep experience navigating complex, multi-year data programs-someone who has seen both success and failure at scale and can apply that judgment to surface blind spots, challenge assumptions, and drive disciplined execution across the data portfolio.
Essential Responsibility Areas
1. Enterprise Data Program Orchestration
  • Own and manage the end-to-end execution view of the data strategy across platforms, analytics, governance, and advanced analytics initiatives
  • Integrate multiple workstreams (data platform, analytics, MDM, governance, AI) into a single coherent program narrative
  • Ensure initiatives are sequenced logically, dependencies are understood, and delivery capacity aligns to priorities

2. Roadmap Alignment & Delivery Oversight
  • Partner with design, engineering, analytics, and governance leads to ensure team-level roadmaps align to enterprise data strategy
  • Identify misalignment, duplication, or gaps across roadmaps and recommend corrective actions
  • Track progress against milestones, outcomes, and strategic objectives-focusing on value delivery, not just activity

3. Risk, Dependency & Blind-Spot Identification
  • Proactively surface delivery risks, architectural conflicts, resourcing constraints, and organizational friction points
  • Apply prior experience to identify "unknown unknowns" common in large data transformations (e.g., data ownership gaps, change management debt, tooling sprawl)
  • Facilitate trade-off discussions and escalation paths with clarity and credibility

4. Program Governance & Operational Rigor
  • Establish and maintain lightweight but effective program governance (cadence, decision forums, escalation paths)
  • Ensure program documentation, decision logs, financial tracking, and status reporting are accurate, current, and executive-ready
  • Support budget planning, vendor coordination, and program administration as needed

5. Executive Communication & Enablement
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to Data leadership by synthesizing complex activity into clear executive insights
  • Prepare concise program updates, risk summaries, and decision materials for senior leadership
  • Enable leaders to focus on strategy and outcomes by handling orchestration, follow-through, and integration

Top 5 Outcomes of the Role
  1. Single Source of Truth for Data Strategy Execution
Leadership has a clear, reliable view of how the data strategy is progressing, what is at risk, and where decisions are required.
  2. Aligned, Non-Overlapping Data Roadmaps
Design and delivery teams are working from coordinated roadmaps with minimized redundancy, clear ownership, and explicit dependencies.
  3. Early Risk Detection and Course Correction
Delivery risks, architectural conflicts, and organizational bottlenecks are identified early-before they become costly or visible failures.
  4. Increased Throughput of Strategic Initiatives
Data initiatives move faster and more predictably due to improved sequencing, prioritization, and cross-team coordination.
  5. More Strategic Focus from Data Leadership
Senior data leaders spend less time on operational friction and more time on vision, stakeholder engagement, and value realization.
