Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of clients' mood disorder symptoms.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that align with individual client goals and preferences, utilizing evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
• Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families regarding mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care practices to enhance understanding and promote recovery.
• Monitor client progress towards treatment goals, adapting treatment plans based on feedback and evolving needs.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers for holistic care delivery.
• Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatment, integrating new methods into practice as appropriate.
• Maintain thorough and confidential client records in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
• Participate actively in case consultations, professional development sessions, and team meetings.
• Advocate for clients' needs while working to reduce the stigma associated with mental health care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on individuals experiencing mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. You may also serve specific groups, including homeless individuals, refugees, and victims of domestic abuse, guiding them towards recovery and stability. Your expertise will play a crucial role in alleviating their distress and promoting mental well-being.

Qualifications

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to establish a secure, trusting therapeutic relationship with clients through excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exhibit empathy and a non-judgmental attitude towards clients' experiences and challenges.
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize case loads and administrative responsibilities.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within a community health clinic setting or similar mental health environments.
• Familiarity with treating substance use disorders can be a valuable asset for this role.
• Previous involvement in outreach programs, particularly those targeting marginalized communities.

Compensation and Benefits

• The salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
