As acorporate claims attorney, you'll partner withour Florida auto claims organization to advise and consult on complex claims matters. In this role, you'll oversee litigation against the company, conduct legal analysis, mitigate risk, and partner with outside counsel to protect the company and our insureds. Additionally, you may represent the interests of the business at mediation, arbitration, or in court, but you may not act as the attorney of record.
Minimum qualifications
  • Juris doctor degree and a minimum of five years of legal experience, including complex civil litigation experience or related corporate experience.
  • Admitted to practice law in at least one state.

Preferred skills
  • Experience practicing in Florida with an understanding of Florida's trial and appellate court system.
  • Significant casualty litigation experience, including corporate witness preparation, taking and defending corporate representative depositions, complex discovery (including managing e-discovery matters), and strong knowledge of insurance coverage in litigation.
  • Ability to precisely identify possible outcomes and assess the probability of any of those outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability or experience proactively engaging business partners and understanding business goals and metrics.
  • Sound understanding of the litigation process and the ability to create effective, detailed, and comprehensive legal strategies.

Compensation
  • Base: $129,200 - $184,500/year
  • Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 40% of your eligible earnings based on company performance.
  • Participation in our restricted stock units plan

Location
  • This is a remote position with frequent travel to offices throughout the state of Florida for meetings, training and/or case-related matters.
  • Must be willing to work East Standard Time during general business hours
