Job description

Position Overview

Director of Sales – Cox Business (CB) – managing sales growth across Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Cleveland, Ohio markets. Hybrid role: remote work part of the week with 25% travel.

Compensation

Base salary: $132,800 – $199,200 annually. Annual incentive/commission target: $64,152.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of Sales Managers to achieve revenue growth and expand customer base nationwide.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies for network solutions and managed services.
  • Maintain fully staffed sales team across specified markets and lead all outside sales functions to meet or exceed sales and revenue targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, ensuring satisfaction and retention.
  • Support customer retention, acquisition, and community advocacy.
  • Set sales targets, forecast accurately, and provide regular performance reports to senior management.
  • On‑board, coach, and develop new and existing sales representatives, fostering a high‑performance culture.
  • Serve as subject‑matter expert on customer sales and resolve escalated issues.
  • Participate in training and stay current on technical knowledge of Cox products and services.
  • Represent Cox in community events, chambers of commerce, and other local councils.
  • Collaborate with sales partners, marketing, and other Cox departments to optimize the sales funnel and drive revenue growth.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Inside Sales to manage lead flow and cross‑team alignment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years sales experience (other combinations such as Master’s degree with 8 years, Ph.D. with 5 years, or 14 years experience without formal degree accepted).
  • 5+ years sales management experience.
  • 5+ years business‑to‑business consultative sales experience.
  • Proficiency with Windows PCs, Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Strong relationship‑building, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship is considered.
  • Preferred: 3+ years cloud or managed services sales experience.
  • Preferred: experience in the telecommunications industry.
