You may encounter challenges such as managing time across different time zones, handling ambiguity in your role, and building relationships with colleagues you rarely meet in person. To thrive, it's important to proactively communicate, embrace flexibility, and be willing to take initiative on projects. What Are Remote Jobs Working for Startups?

Remote startup jobs exist in various industries. The duties of these virtual positions vary but typically involve taking part in the development of processes, products, and services for a new business. Since these are virtual positions, you handle your responsibilities over the internet. As a software developer at a startup, you may code and test products or create internal programs that a startup can use on their computer network. As a graphic designer, you may create various images and visual elements for the website and/or product packaging. Startups also need remote business development specialists and accountants to create a development plan, make decisions, and handle the company’s finances.

What is a remote startup?

A remote startup is a newly established company where the founders and employees work from different locations, rather than from a central office. These startups leverage digital tools and online platforms to communicate, collaborate, and manage projects remotely. This model allows for greater flexibility, access to a global talent pool, and reduced operational costs. However, it also presents challenges in communication, team cohesion, and time zone coordination. Remote startups have become increasingly popular, especially in the tech industry, due to advancements in remote work technology.

Job description

About HireHawk

HireHawk helps companies build high-performing offshore teams by connecting them with rigorously vetted global talent across Latin America, the Philippines, and South Africa. We go beyond traditional staffing by managing the recruiting, payroll, compliance, and ongoing workforce support needed to build reliable offshore teams.

We are looking for a highly driven Sales Development Manager with strong experience in outbound sales, high-volume prospecting systems, and SDR operations to help scale our outbound engine and generate qualified sales opportunities.

Job Overview

This is a hands-on SDR Manager / Outbound Sales Lead role for someone who can build HireHawk's outbound engine from the ground up while personally contributing to pipeline generation.

In the first phase, this person will operate as a player-coach: building targeted prospect lists, setting up high-volume dialing workflows, testing outbound messaging, making calls, booking qualified meetings, and creating a sales-ready pipeline. Over time, this role will evolve into hiring, onboarding, coaching, and managing additional SDRs as the outbound function scales.

This is not a management-only role. In the first phase, this person will be expected to personally build lists, make outbound calls, test messaging, book qualified meetings, and create pipeline while building the systems that future SDRs will follow.
The right candidate has direct experience creating outbound systems, not just working inside an existing sales process. They should be highly comfortable with call volume, CRM discipline, list segmentation, sequence testing, KPI tracking, and improving conversion quality by ICP, industry, and buyer persona.

This is a highly execution-focused role requiring comfort with:

  • High-volume cold calling
  • Outbound process building
  • Lead list generation
  • Sales operations discipline
  • Messaging optimization
  • Pipeline creation
  • SDR coaching and leadership potential

The ideal candidate understands how to build outbound engines from the ground up while remaining highly active in daily prospecting efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the daily outbound activity model, including call-volume targets, call blocks, follow-up cadence, connect-rate tracking, and meeting conversion benchmarks.
  • Build, optimize, and manage high-volume outbound prospecting workflows and dialing processes
  • Develop targeted outbound lead lists using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, CRM databases, and other prospecting platforms
  • Execute daily outbound outreach through cold calls, email campaigns, and LinkedIn messaging
  • Create and refine outbound messaging, call scripts, hooks, and follow-up sequences based on market feedback
  • Track outreach performance metrics and continuously improve conversion rates across outbound campaigns
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, reporting, pipeline tracking, and sales activity management
  • Generate qualified meetings and sales-ready opportunities for the sales team
  • Identify hiring signals, expansion opportunities, and staffing pain points across target accounts
  • Collaborate closely with leadership to improve outbound strategy and market positioning
  • Eventually support hiring, onboarding, coaching, and managing additional SDR team members as the department scales
  • Help establish SDR best practices, outbound KPIs, accountability systems, and operational structure

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an SDR Manager, Sales Development Representative, Business Development Representative, Staffing Sales Representative, or outbound sales leader
  • Strong experience setting up high-volume list-building and dialing processes
  • Proven success in high-volume cold calling and outbound pipeline generation environments
  • Experience building outbound workflows, prospecting sequences, and lead generation systems
  • Strong understanding of B2B outbound sales strategy and sales pipeline management
  • Ability to operate as both an individual contributor and future team leader
  • Excellent objection-handling, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple outbound initiatives simultaneously
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, fully remote startup environment
  • Self-starter mindset with strong ownership and execution discipline
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in recruitment, staffing, talent acquisition, RPO, or HR services industries is preferred but not necessary
  • Experience selling staffing solutions or recruitment services
  • Experience managing or mentoring SDR teams
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, HubSpot, Salesforce, Outreach, or similar platforms
  • Experience analyzing outbound KPIs and optimizing SDR performance metrics
  • Startup or high-growth company experience preferred

Benefits

  • $2500 USD Base + plus comms (Negotiable)
  • Performance-based bonuses and incentives
  • 100% remote work flexibility
  • Career advancement opportunities within a growing company
  • Ongoing sales training and recruitment industry development
  • Collaborative and high-performance team culture
