POSITION SUMMARY

Epsilon is seeking a full-time project scientist or engineer to work as part of the Epsilon team on a wide range of environmental licensing, permitting and compliance projects. This remote position will encompass work primarily in the Acoustics Group.


In the Acoustics Group, the successful candidate will perform project management, mentor junior staff, assist with community sound level measurement programs, meteorological data collection, data analysis, shadow flicker analyses for wind turbines, sound level modeling, and report preparation. This position requires occasional fieldwork as well as overnight, out-of-state travel.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have:

3-7+ years of experience in a consulting environment,

B.S. or B.A. in Acoustics, Engineering, Environmental or Physical Sciences, or Physics,

Experience in using sound level measurement and meteorological equipment,

Experience with ISO 9613-2 sound modeling software (i.e. CadnaA, SoundPLAN)

Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Superior written and verbal communication skills, and

Ability to work cooperatively as part of a multidisciplinary project team


The successful applicant will also have strong organizational skills, be detail oriented, and have project management experience. Experience presenting technical material to clients,

agency staff and/or regulatory boards, using programming languages (i.e. Python) is a plus. Experience in noise control engineering and/or in the energy industry is preferred.


In addition to the Preferred Qualifications, the Candidate must have a valid drivers license to operate a motor vehicle for business travel, including proper insurance and registration, and have all necessary paperwork to work in the USA.


SALARY RANGE

Epsilon's pay range for this position is $70,000-$105,000 USD per year. Pay within this range is commensurate with experience and other job-related factors including but not limited to credentials, skill, and geographic location.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB

The Candidate must:

Be able to work safely outside in variable weather conditions for an extended period of time, as necessary,

Work on a computer for extended periods of time,

Be able to travel outside of the state via plane or car, for an extended period of time, and

Be able to carry approximately 50 pounds on either paved paths, trails, or in fields.
