Overview
Schneider Electric is seeking an experienced Principal QA Engineer / Software QA Lead (Individual Contributor) (officially titled Expert, Process Quality Lead) to help shape how testing and quality processes operate across a high-impact digital transformation program.
In this role, you won't be executing tests; instead, you'll focus on making testing work better at scale. You'll bring structure, clarity, and consistency to how teams plan, coordinate, and improve testing across complex environments.
This is a highly collaborative, cross-functional role where you'll partner with both business and technology teams to streamline testing cycles, strengthen documentation and governance, and drive continuous improvement in quality outcomes.
If you enjoy stepping back to see the bigger picture, identifying opportunities to improve how things work, and influencing teams to operate more effectively, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact without managing people or doing hands-on testing.
What You'll Do
  • Coordinate end-to-end testing cycles across cross-functional business and technical teams
  • Define test scenarios and coverage approach, guiding manual vs. automated testing strategy (no direct execution)
  • Drive testing campaign planning, visibility, and alignment across teams
  • Track, analyze, and report on key testing KPIs (coverage, execution progress, defect trends, leakage)
  • Identify inefficiencies and improve testing cycle speed, quality, and operational effectiveness
  • Establish and enhance testing governance frameworks and operating models
  • Improve documentation quality, traceability, and audit readiness across testing and change processes
  • Standardize testing workflows and process consistency across multiple teams
  • Analyze defects, metrics, and process gaps to drive continuous improvement
  • Act as a central coordination point between business stakeholders, engineering teams, and release management

What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years of experience in software QA, testing strategy, or quality process roles
  • Strong background in test coordination, QA governance, or large-scale testing programs
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end testing lifecycles (functional, integration, UAT)
  • Experience improving testing processes, operating models, and efficiency at scale
  • Familiarity with test automation strategies and frameworks (guidance required; no hands-on coding expected)
  • Experience with documentation standards, traceability, and audit-ready processes
  • Proven ability to analyze KPIs, defects, and process gaps to drive improvements
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional communication skills
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Preferred
  • Experience working in large-scale transformation programs or complex system environments
  • Exposure to governance models, release processes, or enterprise QA frameworks
  • Experience working across distributed or global teams
  • Experience with Tricentis Tosca

PLEASE REVIEW PRIOR TO APPLYING:
  • This role is required to be onsite in Franklin, TN. We have a hybrid 2 days a week in the office policy. We are unable to consider remote candidates or other locations.
  • We are unable to consider any contractors or consultants. We are only hiring for direct hire employees.
  • We are not currently considering candidates who will require any immigration assistance now or in the future. Must be eligible to work in the US on a permanent basis.
