Job description

We're hiring an SQA Analyst II at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. In this fully-remote role, you'll perform functional QA testing on FHIR/interoperability platforms as well as automation testing using Selenium (Java), and Rest Assured.

Our ideal candidate will understand healthcare data exchange standards and be comfortable navigating complex API integrations to ensure seamless communication across platforms. You'll be a great match to this role if you bring:

  • API testing experience (including experience validating API endpoints for accuracy and using Rest Assured for API testing)

  • Experience with Selenium (Java) for UI automation

  • Knowledge of FHIR testing (including validation tools)

  • Knowledge of troubleshooting interoperability challenges

Bonus points if you have experience leveraging GitHub Copilot or other AI-powered developer tools!

Job Responsibilities

  • Intermediate proficiency in testing strategy document preparation, developing test plans, use of relevant toolsets and defect lifecycle management.
  • Aligns with and applies BCBST QA best practices to ensure adherence to the policies and procedures.
  • Creating and executing test scripts for functional, automation and/or performance testing, and deriving testing requirements from functional/business requirements.
  • Review technical design documents and develop E2E integration test scenarios to verify/validate the impacted components, interfaces and systems.
  • Identify and create test data, build, and execute services/API validation scripts to ensure the quality of applications delivered by utilizing relevant toolsets.
  • Document and communicate test status, results at the individual level. Assists in resolving the issues identified by team members.

Job Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology/software engineering or relevant work experience in software industry or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent experience is defined as 2 years of professional work experience in software industry.

Experience

  • 1 year - Experience in API or webservices testing
  • 2 years - Experience in writing SQL queries and testing reports
  • 2 years - Experience in testing web, mobile, interfaces and back-end processing applications
  • 1 year - Experience in test automation or performance including troubleshooting issues
  • 1 year - Working experience with Agile delivery teams

Skills\Certifications

  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must possess ability to maintain professional relationships with vendors and other external partners
  • Coding/ Scripting skills
