Job description

As a Senior Software Engineer II, you will lead the design and delivery of complex Salesforce solutions, providing technical direction for a high-performing product team. You will champion Salesforce engineering best practices, architect scalable solutions and integrations, and drive robust testing strategies. In this role, you'll mentor developers while guiding design decisions, code quality, release readiness, and production support to ensure reliable, high-impact business outcomes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads complex feature implementation and technical direction for a Salesforce product team.
  • Teaches Salesforce engineering patterns; designs scalable solutions, integration patterns, and robust test strategies.
  • Leads developers through design, code quality, release readiness, and production support.
  • Teaches and assists others in Salesforce architecture, Apex/LWC/Flow patterns, data modeling, integration design, platform limits, security, and test strategy.
  • Ensures standards for code quality, automation, deployments, observability, documentation, and supportability are followed. Helps teams make declarative-vs-code tradeoffs.
  • Teaches others how to troubleshoot highly complex Salesforce product architecture; provides meaningful input on architecture changes
  • Leads investigation of production issues and complex release risks.
  • Accountable for code reviews, standards adherence, unit testing, technical coaching, and helping the product team deliver high-quality Salesforce features.
  • Actively collaborates with engineering management, product, QA, admins, support teams, security, and architecture.
  • Keeps Confluence and support documentation current for onboarding and release readiness.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervised by Engineering Manager.

• Leads feature-level technical direction and coordinates work across developers without direct people-management responsibility.

• Leads multiple P1-P3 engineers or workstreams; influences design decisions, quality practices, and release readiness.

• Leads developers through design, code quality, release readiness, and production support.

Education

• 4-year college degree or equivalent experience preferred.

• Salesforce Platform Developer II, App Builder, or Integration/Architecture credentials desired; actively pursuing latest technology.

Experience

• 8-10 years of software development experience; strong Salesforce engineering and technical leadership experience.

Other (knowledge, skills, and abilities)

• Teaches Salesforce engineering patterns; designs scalable solutions, integration patterns, and robust test strategies.

• Ability to manage and prioritize work for a sub team of Engineers.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and challenges.

• Detail oriented in the execution and follow-up of work.

• Ability to effectively manage and lead change.

• Takes initiative.

The compensation package for this role is based on multiple factors, such as job level, responsibilities, location, and candidate experience. The base pay ranges included below are specific to the locations listed, and may not be applicable to other locations.

Minnesota: [$117,750-$140,750]
