Commercial Lines Account Manager

Commercial Lines Account Manager

Superior Insurance Partners LLC

Valparaiso, IN • Remote

Full-time

Posted 12 days ago

Job description

Superior Insurance Partners is a rapidly growing insurance brokerage platform specializing in commercial lines, personal lines, and employee benefits solutions for businesses and individuals across the United States. Through strategic acquisitions and long-term partnerships with leading independent agencies, Superior has built a strong presence throughout the Midwest and Eastern U.S.

At the core of Superior's approach is its mission: to improve the lives of its Agency Partners by supporting their personal, professional, and financial goals. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model, Superior develops customized growth strategies tailored to each partner agency's unique vision and objectives. Agency partners gain access to a robust shared-services platform that includes accounting and finance, recruiting, human resources, AMS/IT support, marketing, and M&A expertise — allowing local agencies to maintain their entrepreneurial culture while benefiting from the scale, resources, and best practices of a larger organization. Long-term economic alignment ensures partners remain invested in the collective success and growth of the platform.

Superior Insurance Partners is backed by Tyree & D'Angelo Partners ("TDP"), a leading Chicago-based private equity firm focused on investing in and partnering with lower middle-market businesses. TDP companies have completed over 1,000 partnerships, have grown to over $4 billion of enterprise value, and TDP has over $1.4 billion of capital under management.

Commercial Lines Account Manager

Remote · Full-Time

We'll be straight with you — Ethos tells the truth, including in job postings. This book is real, the accounts matter, and the standard is high. But you won't be carrying it alone.

The Role

You'll manage an established book of commercial lines accounts and be the person clients trust to get it right. In practice, that looks like:

  • Problem solver. You're the first call for your book — proactive, responsive, and a step ahead of what clients need before they ask.
  • Owning the work end to end. Renewals, quoting, endorsements, certificates, and coverage questions — you carry them from first touch to done.
  • Going to bat with carriers. You work underwriters hard on your clients' behalf and know the coverage well enough to catch the gaps others miss.
  • Keeping it clean. Accurate, current records in the agency management system — because good service starts with good information.
  • Handling the day-to-day. Changes, cancellations, follow-ups, and all the moving pieces, so nothing slips.

Who we're looking for

  • 3+ years servicing commercial lines accounts — you know the rhythm of a renewal cycle in your sleep.
  • An active Property & Casualty license. This one's non-negotiable.
  • Comfort in an agency management system — Applied Epic experience is a plus.
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills.
  • CIC, CISR, or similar designations are a bonus, not a barrier. We care more about how you work than the letters after your name.

Mostly, we want someone who's self-motivated, tells it straight, and takes real pride in the work. The rest we can build together.

What it's actually like here

We take a sincere interest in the people we hire — and that's not HR-speak, it's how we run. Ethos is close-knit, more family than hierarchy, built on mutual trust and respect. The focus is on talent, not titles.. We keep communication open, own our mistakes, and tell the truth even when it's the harder thing to do.

"If we take care of our colleagues, our colleagues will take care of business."

That's the whole idea. We invest in our people first, and we're involved in and committed to the communities we serve. Take care of each other, and the rest follows.

The particulars

  • Location: Fully remote.
  • Type: Full-time.
  • Reports to: Agency leadership.

About Ethos

Ethos Insurance & Risk Management is a commercial and personal lines agency and part of the Superior Insurance Partners platform. That means we pair the resources, carrier relationships, and tools of a national brokerage with the culture of a small group of experienced pros. We're serious about being the best at what we do — and just as serious about being a place worth working.

Sound like your kind of team?

We'd love to hear from you. Tell us who you are — not just what's on your résumé — and let's find out if this is the right fit for both of us.
