Position Overview

The Genworth Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in providing exceptional, person-centered care to individuals and families facing mental health challenges. This full-time, remote role allows you to make a meaningful impact on those we serve while enjoying the flexibility that remote work offers. Your experience and passion will contribute to improving access to mental health services, reducing stigma, and enhancing the overall quality of care.

About the Organization

At Genworth Counseling Center, we pride ourselves on delivering holistic care that is informed by the latest evidence-based advances in neuroscience. Our clinics are designed to ensure that every individual receives high-quality mental health care regardless of their circumstances. We believe in the importance of compassion, accessibility, and cultural sensitivity in our approach to mental health treatment. Our mission is to transform lives through collaborative and innovative therapy practices.

Work Environment

Working from the comfort of your own home, you will be part of a collaborative team that communicates effectively and leverages modern technologies to provide excellent care. Our remote setting enhances work-life balance and allows for a flexible schedule. By fostering a supportive network, we ensure that our mental health professionals feel valued and empowered to deliver their best work.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting culturally sensitive, strength-based assessments to evaluate the needs of new patients and their families.
  • Providing tailored individual and family therapy sessions based on the specific needs and challenges faced by your clients.
  • Completing essential documentation, including billing, individualized treatment plans, and insurance authorization forms, within prescribed timeframes.
  • Developing comprehensive crisis and safety plans, along with relapse prevention strategies and wellness plans to support each patientโ€™s mental health stability.
  • Creating discharge plans that ensure a smooth transition out of care and into the community.
  • Adhering to all federal and state regulations, regulatory requirements, and the policies and procedures set forth by our organization.
  • Continuously enhancing your professional skills through training, continuing education, and participation in case consultation and agency meetings.
  • Meeting all licensure requirements and completing mandatory training as required by the organization.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse client population, including children, adolescents, adults, and families who are facing a range of mental health issues. Our multidisciplinary team collaborates to deliver integrated care that is sensitive to the cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds of the clients we serve.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Masterโ€™s degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or another related area that supports licensure.
  • A valid license as a Mental Health Therapist (e.g., LCPC, LMFT, LCSW) in the State of Illinois.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following experiences are preferred and will enhance your effectiveness in the role:

  • Experience with diverse populations and familiarity with cultural competency in mental health treatment.
  • Prior involvement in community health initiatives that focus on mental health accessibility and stigma reduction.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and licensure. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Health and dental insurance to ensure your well-being is taken care of.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) policies for work-life balance.
  • Short- and long-term disability plans, giving you peace of mind.
  • Life insurance coverage for additional security.
  • A flexible work schedule that accommodates both full-time and part-time roles.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Genworth Counseling Center, we are deeply committed to the professional growth of our employees. You will have opportunities for advancement, continuing education, and specialized training that aligns with your career goals. We encourage our staff to expand their skills and explore new therapeutic methodologies.

Why Join Our Team
