Remote Second information

What is a Remote Second job?

A Remote Second job refers to a role where an individual provides secondary or backup support remotely, often assisting a primary team or leader. This can include tasks like administrative support, technical assistance, or specialized consulting. The job requires strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while staying aligned with the primary team. It is commonly found in industries like IT, customer service, or executive support.

What are the main responsibilities of a Remote Second on a film or video production?

A Remote Second assists the camera department by handling equipment management, data wrangling, and supporting the Director of Photography and 1st Assistant Camera with remote setup and coordination. You may be responsible for preparing camera reports, managing media backups, checking focus accuracy remotely, or troubleshooting technical issues during shoots. The role often involves close communication with on-site crew and the use of remote collaboration tools to stay aligned with shooting schedules and technical requirements. Successfully navigating these responsibilities helps maintain high production standards even when working from a distance.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote Second position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Second (an assistant camera operator in film production, especially in international or remote shoots), you need a solid understanding of camera systems, focus pulling, and on-set workflows, often backed by experience or formal training in cinematography. Familiarity with digital imaging equipment, video assist software, and remote collaboration tools like Zoom or Slack is typically required. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both on-site and remote teams are standout soft skills. These qualifications ensure smooth technical execution and efficient teamwork despite the challenges of working remotely from the main production unit.

As an Outreach Specialist, you will play a critical role in driving member engagement and enrollment in the 2nd.MD Program with Transcarent. This is an outbound focused role for someone who is energized by influencing decisions through meaningful conversations. You will proactively connect with eligible members, clearly articulate the value of Transcarent's 2nd MD Service, overcome hesitation, and motivate action. Success in this role requires strong persuasive communication, resilience, and the ability to consistently perform against defined engagement and enrollment goals while maintaining a positive, professional member experience. This role is ideal for someone with inside sales experience who enjoys dialing, objection handling, and converting interest into action.

A Day in the Life

  • Outbound, cold calling (100+ calls per day) to engage eligible members
  • Drive member activation and enrollment by confidently positioning the value and benefits of Transcarent and 2nd.MD services
  • Use consultative selling techniques to understand member needs, address concerns, and overcome objections
  • Collect relevant health and background information and route members efficiently to the appropriate clinical resources
  • Build rapport quickly and establish trust to influence member decision-making
  • Manage follow-up activities to re-engage members and close enrollment opportunities
  • Accurately document conversations, outcomes, and next steps in internal systems
  • Maintain an organized pipeline of outreach and follow-up activities
  • Collaborate with an integrated care team to support timely care coordination
  • Consistently meet or exceed individual and team performance targets, including engagement and enrollment metrics

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of sales experience required
  • Proven success in high-volume outbound calling
  • Available to work the following schedule: Monday - Thursday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM CST (7a - 4p PST / 8a - 5p MST / 10a - 7p EST) and Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm CST
  • Experience with cold calling and proactive outreach
  • Comfort working toward individual performance targets
  • Strong persuasive and consultative communication skills
